Fan Favorites Reportedly Joining Both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’
It has been more than a year since Deadpool & Wolverine arrived in the MCU, and fans have been wondering when they might see the two heroes again. The film made over 1.3 billion dollars worldwide and became one of Marvel’s biggest hits in recent years, but both characters have been quiet since then.
There have been a lot of theories about where Deadpool and Wolverine could show up next. Ryan Reynolds is already developing another Deadpool project, and Hugh Jackman is rumored to be part of Marvel’s future X-Men plans. But now we might finally have a clearer idea of what their next moves look like.
A new report from Forbes states that both characters are set to appear in the next two Avengers films.
The exact line from the report says that “Deadpool and Wolverine are also expected to star in the MCU’s next two kid-friendly Avengers movies.” This is the first real sign that Marvel intends to keep these versions of the characters active in the main storyline.
The first of the two films, Avengers: Doomsday, already has a very large cast. It is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. The movie is filled with returning MCU stars as well as actors from the X-Men movies and other Marvel projects.
The story brings together the Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, and the X-Men to face Doctor Doom, who will be played by Robert Downey Jr.
Avengers: Secret Wars is set to arrive on December 17, 2027. Marvel has shared almost nothing about this movie, but the main Fantastic Four actors from Doomsday are confirmed to return. Everything else is still a mystery.
If the Forbes report is accurate, Deadpool and Wolverine won’t just appear in one of these films but in both. That would make them key players in the next chapter of the MCU, which is something fans have been hoping to see.
