‘Marty Supreme’ Earns Rave Reviews & Stellar Rotten Tomatoes Score, Timothée Chalamet Shines in Hit Film
Josh Safdie’s latest film, Marty Supreme, is already drawing attention from critics ahead of its U.S. release. The sports comedy-drama was co-written by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein and takes inspiration from the life of American table tennis player Marty Reisman.
Timothée Chalamet stars as the lead and also helped produce the film. The cast includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.

Marty Supreme had its first screening at the New York Film Festival on October 6. It is scheduled to hit theaters across the United States on December 25, through A24. The story is set in 1950s New York City and follows Marty Mauser, a young table tennis player determined to achieve greatness, facing both challenges and victories along the way.
Early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie holds a 95% rating based on 40 reviews. Critics praised the film for being entertaining and fun while also exploring deeper themes.

Many highlighted the strong performances from the cast, noting that Chalamet leads a group of actors who all bring energy and depth to their roles. Reviewers said the movie can be intense and even abrasive at times, but this adds to its impact.
