Kim Kardashian Says Kanye Accused Her of Faking Paris Robbery: “A Knife to My Heart”
Kim Kardashian shared one of the most painful moments of her past on the newest episode of The Kardashians, saying she was shocked when Kanye West once suggested she had faked her 2016 Paris robbery.
The reality star said the comment cut her deeply, especially coming from someone who had been so close to her.
In the episode, Kim said during a confessional that Kanye made the remark in front of other people. She explained that hearing him say it felt devastating. “My ex-husband had said, ‘And you faked your robbery for a TV show,’ and had said that in front of all these people,” she said.
She added that the accusation felt like “a knife to my heart.” Kim said it hurt because she never thought someone who knew her so well would question something that changed her life in such a serious way. “You don’t know who I am,” she said through tears.
Kim returned to Paris earlier this year to testify in the long-running case. She said facing the suspects and hearing their statements helped her find some closure. “To finally be able to go to trial and face these people and hear their accounts and apologies, I’m like, ‘See, guys. It was real.’ I’m happy it’s over,” she explained.
She also said she will not let those few minutes of fear define her anymore, saying that “eight, nine minutes” of terror will not control her life.
The robbery happened in October 2016 during Paris Fashion Week. Five men, dressed as police officers, forced their way into her residence, tied her up, and stole millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry.
Kim was left physically unharmed but said she feared for her life. Production on Keeping Up with the Kardashians paused after the incident, and questions from critics quickly followed. Some people doubted the story, especially after a video surfaced showing Kim speaking on a phone she had reported stolen. She took legal action against outlets that shared the video until investigators handled it, later dropping the lawsuit.
French police eventually detained and arrested several suspects in 2017. Many of them were older men who became known in the press as the “Grandpa Robbers.” The case finally went to trial in April, almost nine years after the crime. Eight defendants were found guilty, while two were acquitted.
