Taylor Swift’s ‘End of an Era’ Docuseries Debuts to Strong Rotten Tomatoes Scores
Taylor Swift has opened a new chapter of her Eras Tour story with the release of her latest docuseries, The End of an Era. The first two episodes are now available on Disney+, giving fans a closer look at what went into one of the biggest tours in music history.
The series follows Swift’s Eras Tour, which started in March 2023 and wrapped up in December 2024. Across six episodes, the docuseries shows how the tour was built, how it grew into a global event, and how it affected both Swift and the people who worked alongside her. Viewers also see moments from Swift’s life away from the stage and learn more about the crew members who helped make the tour possible.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the docuseries has launched with strong early reactions. It currently holds an 88 percent critics score and a 95 percent audience score, based on early reviews and viewer ratings. These numbers suggest that both critics and fans are responding well to the project.

The first two episodes were released on December 12, the same day as the concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show. The remaining four episodes are scheduled to drop later in December, with new installments arriving on December 19 and December 26.
Critics have responded positively so far. Reviews point to the emotional side of the series as a major strength. Many have noted that the show does a good job balancing the massive scale of the tour with quieter, more personal moments. Others have highlighted the focus on the crew, saying the docuseries gives real attention to the people behind the scenes, not just the star at the center.
After so much Eras Tour, here’s more Eras Tour. But Taylor Swift: The End of an Era is a nice illumination into the singer-songwriter’s hugely-scaled professional operation and her personal, sometimes emotional world.

Getting a closer look at those teammates here is one of the best reasons to watch “The End of an Era.” Because you get the sense that there could be a pretty good six-episode documentary made about the tour even if Swift didn’t appear in it at all.
Chris Willman
Illuminating that balance, picking out moments that contrast Swift’s goofiness, thoughtfulness and vulnerability as a creative person and the almost steely power she exerts as the detail-obsessed prime mover of such an enormous undertaking.
Neil McCormic
Call me sentimental, the footage of girls, especially those the age of the Southport victims, flinging themselves around without a shred of self-consciousness says as much about the point of all this as the Eras masterminds could ever spill.
Laura Snapes
The End of an Era also explores the cultural impact of the Eras Tour, which became the highest-grossing tour of all time. Through backstage footage, concert clips, interviews, and public reactions, the series paints a full picture of how large and demanding the production truly was.
