Kodak Black Sparks Outrage After Defending Slavery in Latest Rant: “Iām not mad at slavery”
Kodak Black is once again at the center of controversy after a video of him speaking about slavery spread widely on social media. The clip, dated December 16, shows the Florida rapper talking directly to fans in what many described as a disturbing and confusing rant.
The video was first shared online and quickly reposted across platforms, becoming the source of the backlash.
In the footage, Kodak appears unfiltered and unfocused while members of his team stand nearby. Several prescription bottles can be seen in the background, including one that appears to be open. This detail has raised concern among viewers about his condition at the time of the recording.
Kodak starts the video by speaking about Black identity and race. He positions himself as someone telling hard truths, saying, āBlack people, bruh, we p**** as f***, bruh.ā He then turns his attention to Africans, adding, āI love yāall from Africa, too,ā before criticizing what he described as a sense of superiority, saying some Africans āact like yāall better than mutha*****.ā
The tone quickly escalates when Kodak brings up slavery. Referring to the transatlantic slave trade, he says, āYāall Africans should have never sold n****, bruh.ā Moments later, he makes the statement that caused the strongest reaction online, saying, āIām not mad at slavery ācause white people was slaving people, too.ā
As the video continues, Kodak appears distracted and begins talking about a drink he is consuming, though it is unclear what it is. Smiling, he says, āI aināt gonna lie, though, that shit taste good as f***,ā and follows it with, āThat b**** so good bro.ā The mix of comments and behavior left many viewers uneasy.
Toward the end of the clip, Kodak shifts again and starts talking about physical discomfort. He says, āI was burping the other night,ā and adds, āLike, I had some s*** that was stuck in my throat.ā These comments added to concerns about his health and possible substance use.
