Kylie Jenner Under Fire for Stealing the Spotlight at Golden Globes While Holding Timothée Chalamet’s Award
Kylie Jenner is facing criticism after some fans said she stole the spotlight from boyfriend Timothée Chalamet at the 2026 Golden Globes.
The reality star, 28, shared a series of photos on Instagram on Monday, January 12, captioned simply “golden globes”, showing her posing with Chalamet’s newly won award

Jenner looked stunning at the ceremony in a custom Ashi Studio sequin gown that hugged her curves. The dress featured a sweetheart neckline and sparkling jewel-embellished straps over her shoulders. She finished the glamorous look with a vintage Gucci clutch and Christian Louboutin heels.
Some fans quickly called out Jenner for posing with Chalamet’s Golden Globe. “She always make the events about herself. Timothée is the one nominated, not you,” one critic wrote. Another added, “What movie were you in again? Just wondering.”

Others defended Jenner but questioned why the couple hasn’t officially gone public on Instagram. “Post him already?? You’re just going to pose with his award?” one fan commented. Another added, “Maybe one picture of the person they were actually celebrating? @kyliejenner I adore u but come on.”
Chalamet, 30, won Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role in Marty Supreme, beating out heavyweights like Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney. In his acceptance speech, he thanked his supporters, including Jenner. “My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up. Always be grateful for what you have. It’s allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past empty-handed, my head held high, grateful just to be here. For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much,” he said.
The couple, who were first linked romantically in 2023, were seen showing PDA throughout the awards show. A TikTok video later went viral, with lip reader Nicola Hickling claiming the pair appeared to argue backstage. According to the video, Chalamet allegedly said, “You must hate me,” to which Jenner reportedly replied, “Yes. Not here. You’re annoying.”
