Many people have forgotten that Chloë Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham once dated, but their past relationship is back in the spotlight after Brooklyn made some shocking comments about his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

Brooklyn recently posted on Instagram accusing his parents of “controlling behaviour” throughout his life. He even suggested that they were “inviting women from his past” into his life to cause trouble in his marriage to Nicola Peltz. This dramatic statement has fans revisiting his previous relationships, including his years with Chloë.

Brooklyn and Chloë dated on and off between 2014 and 2018. She was 17 when they started seeing each other, and he was 15. During that time, Chloë spoke very positively about the Beckham family. In a 2014 interview with Andy Cohen, she said, “She’s an amazing person. I really admire her work ethic and I love her line,” referring to Victoria Beckham.

She also complimented the family as a whole, noting that their experience with fame made things easier. “I think that as a family, they’re awesome people,” she said, explaining that they “understand the travel, the s** scenes with random people, the crazy schedules.” She praised David and Victoria specifically as parents: “They genuinely are very good parents. That’s what matters most.”

Despite her praise, the relationship wasn’t without challenges. Chloë admitted that dealing with public attention was difficult. In 2016, she told British InStyle, “It creates a mass frenzy and they follow you in separate cars so you can’t just run around and share little silly and cute moments.” Eventually, the pressure contributed to their split in 2018, which she described as leading to a “hard year.”

Since then, Chloë has moved on with her life. In 2024, she came out publicly as a “gay woman” while sharing her vote for Kamala Harris, citing her belief in “the need for legal protections that protect the LGBTQ+ community.” She married Kate Harrison in 2025, a step that seems to have helped her distance herself from the Beckham family drama.

Chloë Grace Moretz began acting as a child and quickly became a well-known star with films like The Amityville Horror, 500 Days of Summer, and Kick-Ass. She has successfully transitioned into adult roles, starring in Carrie, Clouds of Sils Maria, and The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Recently, she has appeared in the Amazon series The Peripheral and voiced the lead in the animated film Nimona.

We want to know what you think: do Chloë’s positive past comments about the Beckham parents clash with Brooklyn’s recent accusations, or can both perspectives coexist? Share your thoughts in the comments.
