The NCIS universe is staying strong and will keep going on CBS for several more seasons. According to a major announcement from the Paramount network on Thursday, January 22, the main NCIS show has been picked up for Season 24.

This makes it one of the longest-running dramas ever on television. Along with the original, the prequel show NCIS: Origins will return for Season 3 and NCIS: Sydney has been renewed for Season 4.

These renewals are part of a massive day for CBS where they decided to bring back ten different shows at once. Other fan favorites joining the list include the hit dramas Tracker, Elsbeth, and Matlock.

Reality TV fans also have a reason to celebrate because the network is bringing back both Survivor and The Amazing Race. Even the newer comedies like Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will be coming back for a third season.

The main NCIS series still features a big cast including Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, and Gary Cole. This show is all about special agents who solve crimes involving the Navy and Marine Corps. It was originally created by Donald P. Bellisario and continues to be a huge hit for the network. The show is even getting ready to celebrate its 500th episode this coming March.

If you like stories about the past, NCIS: Origins will continue to follow a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the 1990s. Austin Stowell plays the young version of the famous character, and the original actor Mark Harmon actually narratest the show. It gives fans a look at how Gibbs first started his career long before the events of the original series began.

For those who want an international feel, NCIS: Sydney is heading into its fourth season with a multinational team. This show takes place in Australia and follows agents from the U.S. and the Australian Federal Police. They work together to handle crimes in a very busy and contested part of the ocean. It stars actors like Olivia Swann and Todd Lasance as they lead their team through dangerous missions.

The news of these renewals comes right after some other big changes at CBS. While many shows are coming back, the network recently decided to cancel the spin-off NCIS: Tony & Ziva. It seems the network wants to focus more on its main broadcast shows rather than sticking only to streaming-exclusive projects. CBS remains the home to many of the most-watched series on television today.

Fire Country was also a big part of the renewal news as it was picked up for a fifth season. This show follows a convict named Bode who tries to find redemption by joining a firefighting program in his hometown. Even though the show is losing its original boss, it is still a major part of the Friday night lineup. Fans can expect to see more of these characters as the network continues to build its scripted TV universe.
