Tiffany Pollard Calls Out Nicki Minaj for Disappointing the Queer Community
Reality TV star Tiffany Pollard, better known as “New York,” is speaking out after Nicki Minaj’s recent political moves left many fans upset.
Pollard, who recently came out as queer and non-binary, called Minaj’s support of the Trump administration a “slap in the face” to LGBTQ+ fans who have supported the rapper for years.
Minaj’s shift into conservative politics has been making headlines in early 2026. After years of criticizing conservative policies, she recently appeared at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix with Erika Kirk, widow of late activist Charlie Kirk. During the event, Minaj shocked some fans by calling Vice President J.D. Vance an assassin while praising him as a role model.
Pollard said Minaj’s actions hurt longtime fans and suggested the rapper could benefit from seeing a different point of view. “Hop on Springsteen’s lap and let him show her the light,” Pollard joked, referring to Bruce Springsteen, who has been openly critical of the administration. Pollard clarified the comment was meant as a platonic suggestion to encourage Minaj to broaden her perspective.
Tiffany Pollard has had a busy year themselves. After coming out as non-binary in October 2025, they told PinkNews, “Shoving me back in the closet is never going to be an option,” highlighting their commitment to visibility and advocacy for the queer community.
Professionally, Pollard continues to dominate the reality TV world. Their new competition series, Slayers: Wheel of Fate, premiered on OUTtv in late 2025 and features queer contestants competing for a $25,000 prize. Pollard is both host and executive producer of the show, further cementing their “Head B***h In Charge” persona. They also recently appeared in season two of House of Villains.
Meanwhile, Minaj has doubled down on her conservative stance, even postponing her upcoming March 2026 album to focus on other ventures. Pollard remains hopeful that Minaj might reconsider her political alignment, though for now, they are focused on their own career and advocacy work.
Tiffany Pollard’s criticism highlights the disappointment many queer fans feel about Minaj’s recent political decisions. While artists have the right to change their beliefs, sudden political pivots can feel like a betrayal to the communities that helped build their careers.
Pollard’s remarks make it clear that for many fans, the gap between Minaj’s music and her political choices is hard to reconcile. Will Minaj listen to voices like Pollard’s or continue down her current path? Only time will tell.
