Kaley Cuoco Reveals Her Darkest Moment Before Everything Turned Around: “I thought Iād never find love again”
Kaley Cuoco opened up about one of the darkest mornings of her life, sharing a story that shows how public success can hide private struggles. On a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, she looked back at the day of her The Flight Attendant season two premiere in 2022.
Even though the world saw her as a star at the top of her game, Cuoco said she was battling deep depression after her divorce from Karl Cook. āI literally thought I was gonna die,ā she admitted, describing waking up that morning so overwhelmed with sadness that she couldnāt breathe and found herself frozen on her bedroom floor.
The experience was made even more surreal because it was supposed to be one of the best days of her life. Her glam team had to start doing her hair and makeup while she was still on the floor because she couldnāt even get up. āI thought Iād never find love again or have the family I wanted,ā Cuoco said.
Looking back now, she sees that morning as a turning point. It was a moment that ultimately helped her grow, though she says it took a lot of time and self-forgiveness to get to a healthier headspace. In a twist of fate, she met her now-fiancƩ, Ozark star Tom Pelphrey, just three weeks after that low point.
Cuoco had once thought she would never marry again, but meeting Pelphrey changed everything. She reflected, āPeople are allowed to change their minds. Iām in a completely different headspace than I was lying on that floor four years ago.ā
Today, Cuoco is thriving. She recently premiered her new mystery thriller, Vanished, on MGM+ on February 1, starring alongside Sam Claflin as a woman searching for her missing boyfriend on a train in France. The show has already climbed the streaming charts and marked a big success for her production company, Yes, Norman Productions.
Sheās also developing a new HBO comedy, Kansas City Star, where she will play a semi-famous actress returning to her hometown to join a local theater group. Outside of work, sheās been attending awards shows with Pelphrey and enjoying life with her daughter, Matilda, who will turn three next month.
Kaleyās honesty about her struggles sheds light on the pressures of Hollywood, proving that even when everything looks perfect on the outside, the reality can be very different. āI literally thought I was gonna die,ā she said again, showing just how far she has come.
