Amanda Seyfried turned heads in Paris this week at the French premiere of her latest film, bringing elegance and poise to the Cinema Max Linder on Tuesday, February 17. The actress attended the special screening of The Testament of Ann Lee, drawing attention not only for her fashion choices but also for the powerful historical role she portrays.

The 40-year-old Academy Award nominee looked effortlessly chic in a cropped double-breasted wool blazer by Chloé, paired with a black skirt layered over knee-length pants. Her soft blush makeup and subtle nude lips complemented the look perfectly, creating an understated but striking red carpet appearance.

Seyfried’s hair was styled naturally, allowing the outfit to take center stage. She shared the red carpet with director and co-writer Mona Fastvold, celebrating the European debut of the religious musical biopic. Speaking with reporters, Seyfried explained why the role of Ann Lee resonated with her.

“In her community, gender and race didn’t define anyone. Everyone worked together and built a life based on respect and shared purpose,” she said. The actress noted how inspiring it was to portray someone who challenged the social norms of her time while fostering a sense of equality and unity.

The Testament of Ann Lee chronicles the life of the Shaker movement founder, following her efforts to establish a utopian society in 18th-century America. The film blends historical storytelling with music, transforming Shaker hymns into captivating, choreographed sequences.

Seyfried’s performance has been singled out by early reviewers as compelling and immersive, with many calling it a standout in her already celebrated career. Beyond the premiere, Seyfried has had a busy year in film and television.

She recently starred in the psychological thriller The Housemaid, which has already grossed over $350 million worldwide. Lionsgate has greenlit a sequel titled The Housemaid’s Secrets, although her involvement has not yet been confirmed.

She also appeared in the Peacock crime drama Long Bright River, taking on the dual role of lead actress and executive producer. Seyfried has been open about her personal journey with mental health, sharing in a Vogue interview that living on her farm in upstate New York helps her manage OCD and maintain balance amid her demanding career.

She continues to explore multiple creative avenues, including music and theater, and has expressed interest in a potential third Mamma Mia! film, which would allow her to revisit the musical world that made her a household name.

In addition to her current projects, Seyfried is involved in upcoming films, including the drama The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd, currently in post-production, and she will reprise her role as Samantha Leslie Jackson in the animated Ted series.
