Source Speaks Out on Angelina Jolie and Louis Garrel Romance Speculation
Rumors have swirled about a possible romance between Angelina Jolie and French actor Louis Garrel after they worked together on the film Couture. But sources close to Jolie have clarified that their relationship is purely professional and friendly.
The speculation ramped up after the pair walked the red carpet together at the Paris premiere in early February. While they were joined by other cast members, fans and media noticed a certain chemistry between them, sparking dating rumors.
A source told TMZ that Jolie and Garrel are simply good friends who share mutual connections. “They’ve gone out to dinner a few times, but it’s just as friends, that’s where it stands,” the source explained.
Those close to the actress also emphasized that she is currently single and focused on her career and raising her six children. The dating rumors come during a busy period for Jolie, who not only stars in Couture but also serves as one of its producers.
Couture, directed by Alice Winocour, follows the lives of three women navigating the high-pressure world of Paris Fashion Week. Jolie plays Maxine, an American filmmaker dealing with a personal health challenge while completing a major project.
Garrel plays her cinematographer and frequent collaborator, which may have contributed to the perception of a romantic connection. Jolie has largely stayed quiet about the gossip, but public fascination with her personal life remains strong. Since her separation from Brad Pitt, finalized in late 2024, any rumor involving Jolie attracts attention.
Family matters have also been in the spotlight recently. Jolie’s eldest son, Maddox, served as an assistant director on Couture, and his name in the end credits was listed as Maddox Jolie, dropping the Pitt surname. Other children, including Zahara and Shiloh, have similarly chosen to use only Jolie’s last name professionally.
Looking ahead, Jolie has a busy slate of projects. She is preparing for the action thriller Sunny, where she plays a woman forced back into a violent underworld to protect her family.
She is also set to work with director Doug Liman on the espionage thriller The Initiative and stars alongside Christoph Waltz in Every Note Played, based on a novel about a concert pianist facing a terminal illness.
As Couture rolls out internationally, critics are focusing on the artistic aspects of the film. Jolie has been praised for bringing vulnerability and depth to her performance, with the story reflecting some of her own experiences with health and resilience.
Sources continue to stress that despite the public speculation, Jolie’s connection with Garrel remains strictly professional. “There’s nothing romantic going on,” a representative told TMZ.
