Many Black actors have entered the industry with breakout performances that suggested they would become the next household names and multi award winning icons. While some achieved steady careers in television or film they did not always reach the absolute pinnacle of superstardom that fans and critics once predicted. This list explores several male performers who were poised for massive success but followed different trajectories in the entertainment world.
