Authorities Charge Woman With Attempted Murder After Shooting at Rihanna’s Property

Police in Los Angeles are investigating a disturbing incident that took place outside the home of singer Rihanna on Sunday afternoon. According to information released by the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman allegedly fired several shots toward the property at around 1:20 p.m.

Authorities said the gunfire did not strike the main house. Instead, multiple bullets hit the exterior gate of the estate. Police reported that between five and seven shots were fired during the incident. There were people inside the residence at the time, but officials confirmed that no one was injured.

Officers quickly searched the area and located the suspect not long after the shooting. Police identified her as a 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Ortiz was taken into custody without resistance.

She is now facing a charge of attempted murder. Authorities also confirmed that she is currently being held on bail set at 10.2 million dollars as the investigation continues. Representatives for Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, have been contacted for comment by several media outlets.

So far, neither of them has released a public statement about the situation. The frightening event adds to a history of security concerns that the global music star has dealt with over the years. Despite that, Rihanna has recently been focused mainly on her family life.

The singer welcomed her third child in September 2025. The baby, a daughter named Rocki, arrived months after Rihanna revealed her pregnancy during her appearance at the Met Gala earlier that year. Since then, she has often shared that being a mother has become her biggest priority.

At the same time, fans continue to wait for new music. Rihanna has been working on her long-awaited ninth studio album, often called R9 by fans. Earlier this year, photographers spotted her entering recording studios in New York City.

She also shared short clips online showing herself working with her creative team. The singer has hinted that the upcoming album may explore new sounds and move away from traditional music styles.

Rihanna is also involved in a major film project. She voices Smurfette in the musical movie Smurfs. The film features a large cast that includes James Corden, Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, and Octavia Spencer.
