Actor Terrence Howard is making headlines again after talking about an early career “what if” in a recent interview on the PBD Podcast with host Patrick Bet-David. The 57-year-old actor revealed that he once had the chance to pursue a romantic relationship with Beyoncé Knowles before she became a global superstar.

Howard said he ultimately chose not to move forward with Beyoncé and instead pursued another member of Destiny’s Child, describing her only as “the girl with the blue eyes.” He did not reveal the bandmate’s name, but his comments have sparked intense speculation among fans of the group.

The actor reflected on his decision while discussing fame and the pressures of dating high-profile figures. According to Howard, he stepped back from Beyoncé because he wanted to avoid the spotlight and the stress of a public relationship at that time.

He also revisited a moment from the 2005 BET Awards, where he was pulled on stage by Beyoncé during a performance of Cater 2 U. Howard recalled the experience, saying, “I remember Beyoncé looking over at me, and I think that’s why she picked me to do that dance, when she did the kind of strip tease dance that we did at BET or whatever, to show me what I had lost.”

Howard admitted that there was a moment of genuine attraction, but he emphasized that it happened “very, very long ago,” well before Beyoncé married Jay-Z in 2008. The story has caused a mix of amusement and skepticism online, with fans debating the details and timeline of Howard’s account.

Regardless, it remains one of the more colorful pop culture “what if” stories from the early 2000s. Howard continues to stay in the public eye, balancing high-profile acting roles with his personal interests.

He recently appeared in the Peacock series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist and the 2024 film Shirley. At the same time, he has hinted at eventually stepping away from traditional acting to focus on independent research in physics and mathematics, a field he calls “Terryology.”

Known for his Academy Award-nominated performance in Hustle & Flow and his long-running lead role on the Fox series Empire, Howard has built a career filled with major successes, controversial interviews, and legal disputes. Whether through acting or candid podcast appearances, he continues to make headlines and keeps audiences talking.
