Richard Burton once said that Bulgari was the only Italian word Elizabeth Taylor truly understood. That quote really shows how closely the jewelry brand is linked to glamour and Hollywood stars.

Over the years, Bulgari has been worn by legends like Ingrid Bergman and Monica Vitti, and today, stars like Sharon Stone keep the tradition alive. At the 98th Academy Awards, Priyanka Chopra Jonas represented Bulgari as their global ambassador.

She wore several pieces from the brand’s upcoming Eclettica collection, which will be officially shown in Italy later this month. According to Bulgari, each piece in this collection is made by hand using the world’s finest stones, making them the jewelry version of haute couture.

The main piece of her look was the Serpenti Illusio necklace. Made from white gold, it took more than 1,300 hours to craft. The necklace has 235 separate pieces and features a 14-carat sapphire from Madagascar in the center.

It is surrounded by pavé diamonds, buff-top emeralds, and onyx accents. The necklace is designed to change in appearance depending on how you look at it. At first, the big sapphire draws your eye, but the famous serpent design slowly appears above the stone.

The effect is both like a sculpture and an optical illusion. Chopra has a reputation for bold jewelry choices. She previously wore a 241-carat emerald from Bulgari at the Met Gala. Besides her work with Bulgari, Chopra has had a busy year with her acting career.

She recently starred in The Bluff, an action-thriller on Amazon Prime Video, which came out in late February. In the movie, she plays a former pirate in the 19th-century Caribbean who must protect her family from her past.

The cast included Karl Urban and Ismael Cruz Córdova, and the role let Chopra do many challenging stunts. Fans are also excited for the second season of her spy series, Citadel. The new season is expected later this spring and will bring in characters from the show’s international spin-offs, Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny.
