Livvy Dunne Debuts Iconic ‘Baywatch’ Red Swimsuit Look While Filming
Livvy Dunne is starting a new chapter, and it looks very different from her days in college gymnastics. The former LSU athlete has now stepped onto the set of the Baywatch reboot, trading leotards for the show’s famous red swimsuit.
She was recently seen filming on the beach in Malibu, joining the rest of the cast for early scenes. At 23, this is her first major acting role in a scripted series. While she has done big shoots before, including the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, this project is a big step into television.
Dunne plays a junior lifeguard in the show. She has said that acting is something she has wanted to do for a while, but she had to put it aside when gymnastics was her main focus. In an interview, she explained,
“It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school.”

Now that she is done with school and no longer competing, she has more time to focus on acting. She said, “And now that I’m done with school, I have more time to lean into the acting stuff and the creative side of things.”
For Dunne, the switch from sports to acting still feels familiar in some ways. She shared, “Whether it’s gymnastics or acting in a movie or a TV show, I just think watching all your hard work pay off, whether it’s an individual thing or a group thing, I think it’s so cool.”
Getting ready for Baywatch has not been easy. She and Brooks Nader were recently spotted training at Venice Beach. They worked with real lifeguards to learn how to move and react like professionals. This includes practicing the well-known slow-motion run into the water, which has always been part of the show.

A source close to the production told the media that the two are enjoying the experience. The insider said, “They’re really excited to be working together. They’re having so much fun and bringing that Sports Illustrated energy straight to Baywatch Beach.”
The cast includes a mix of actors and social media personalities. Names like Shay Mitchell, Stephen Amell, and Noah Beck are all part of the show. Hassie Harrison and Jessica Belkin also join the main group.
Outside of work, Dunne is still very connected to the sports world. She is in a relationship with Paul Skenes, who recently played in the World Baseball Classic final. His team lost to Venezuela, but he is now getting ready for the new season with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Dunne plans to support him as much as she can. She previously said, “I’ll try to make all of his starts, that’s my goal this year.” It shows she will be balancing her time between filming and traveling during the baseball season.
The Baywatch reboot is one of the biggest TV projects coming soon. It aims to bring back the action and beach style of the original series while introducing a younger cast. Filming is already in progress, and more updates are expected as the release date gets closer.
