Cena’s career in WWE lasted many years and included a long run at the top. He started wrestling in 1999 and joined WWE in 2001, where he first trained in Ohio Valley Wrestling before moving to the main roster in 2002. Early on, he became popular with his rapper-style character, and later turned into the face of the company for over a decade. He played a hero character from 2003 until 2025, which is one of the longest runs of its kind.
During that time, he won many titles. Cena held the WWE Championship 14 times and also won the World Heavyweight Championship three times. He had success in other divisions too, including five United States title wins and a run as Intercontinental Champion. He also won tag team titles multiple times. His achievements make him both a Triple Crown and Grand Slam champion.
He also made his mark in big matches. Cena won the Royal Rumble twice, the Elimination Chamber match four times, and Money in the Bank once. He was often the main event at WrestleMania and led some of the biggest shows in WWE. While he was very successful, fans had mixed reactions during his peak years. Some supported him, while others felt he was pushed too much. Later in his career, more fans began to appreciate what he had done.
Outside wrestling, Cena built a strong career in movies and TV. He appeared in films like The Suicide Squad, Bumblebee, and F9, and starred in the series Peacemaker. He also released a rap album in 2005. Along with that, he became known for his charity work, especially with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where he granted more than 650 wishes.
Even with all of that, Cena still wants to be part of WWE. In the conversation with the fans, Cena indicated that he is not expected to return as a full-time performer. Instead, many believe he could help behind the scenes, possibly working with younger talent or helping shape the direction of the company.
Cena has been through every level of the business and knows what works. He can help new wrestlers learn and grow. It also shows that he still cares about WWE.
