David Chokachi is getting ready to return to the iconic beaches of Baywatch. The 58-year-old actor was spotted this past Sunday, March 22, enjoying a morning on the water in Malibu. Paddleboarding under the sun, he showed off a remarkably fit and toned body, reminding fans that he’s more than ready for the series reboot.

The sightings come as anticipation grows for Fox’s highly publicized revival of the classic lifeguard show. While Chokachi hasn’t been seen filming on the official set yet, it’s clear from his shape that he’s been training hard to reprise his role.

He will once again step into the shoes of Cody Madison, a character he first brought to life almost three decades ago. Cody has grown over the years but remains a central figure in the lifeguard community.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the character now runs a business while still patrolling the beach. “Cody runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar-and-grill, and still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives,” the outlet shared.

Cody also acts as a mentor for younger lifeguards, “providing a second home for his fellow lifeguards… and always offering free wings after a big save.” This mix of nostalgia and new storylines promises to please longtime fans while keeping the show fresh.

Over the past few years, Chokachi has stayed busy with action and independent films, as well as attending fan conventions celebrating Baywatch. During a panel in January, he spoke about his excitement for the reboot, highlighting its focus on realistic rescues and stronger character-driven storytelling.

Chokachi has also been sharing his fitness journey on social media, encouraging fans to stay active through surfing, paddleboarding, and other outdoor sports, proving that staying in shape is possible at any age. His recent paddleboarding session in Malibu is the perfect teaser for what fans can expect when he returns to the red trunks.

The Baywatch reboot, produced by Fremantle, features both returning stars and new faces, and filming has moved from Hawaii back to Southern California. While plot details remain mostly under wraps, the first season is set to premiere in September, and viewers are eager to see Cody Madison back in action.

With his shirtless display in Malibu and continued dedication to fitness, David Chokachi is reminding everyone that Cody Madison hasn’t lost a step and is ready to guide the next generation of lifeguards.
