Sharon Stone Speaks Out at 68 on Aging and Embracing Nudity
Sharon Stone is speaking openly about aging, body image, and how people view nudity. The 68-year-old actress recently shared her thoughts in a series of Instagram videos, using her platform to question why society still feels uncomfortable with the natural human body. Her message came after a moment in her own art studio that left her frustrated.
Stone explained that a film crew visiting her Los Angeles studio asked her to move one of her nude paintings out of sight during filming. The artwork, called The Goddess, is one of her personal pieces and holds strong meaning for her. Instead of agreeing quietly, she used the situation to start a bigger conversation about how people react to nudity compared to other things shown in the media.
She addressed her followers directly and said, “We are afraid of nudity on our screens, our bodies, our home… but not violence or every other thing we are constantly bombarded with day in and day out? Get real!” Her words made it clear that she sees a double standard in what people accept and what they avoid.
Standing in front of the painting, Stone also talked about how people view their own bodies. She encouraged her audience to rethink why looking at themselves in the mirror can sometimes feel uncomfortable. For her, the human body is not something to hide or fear.
She explained her point in a simple way by comparing the body to a place you live in. “Excuse me, I wear it every day. I get up in it. I go to sleep in it. It’s my apartment. I live here,” she said. With this, she made it clear that our bodies are just a natural part of life and should be treated with acceptance.
Stone believes that fear around aging and the body is outdated. She also pointed out that women today take on many roles, including artists, mothers, and professionals, and should not feel limited by age or appearance.
At the same time, she is staying busy with her own career. She is currently working on a film adaptation of Speed-The-Plow, which also stars Anthony Mackie and Ben Mendelsohn. Filming for the project began in Atlanta earlier this year.
Outside of acting, Stone continues to build her reputation as a visual artist. She was recently shortlisted for the 2025 Women in Art Prize and has been showing her large abstract paintings in galleries. She is also set to appear in the third season of Euphoria, which is expected to premiere on HBO Max in April.
All of this reflects the message she is sharing with her fans. Aging, for her, is not about slowing down or disappearing. It is about growing, creating, and staying active. Whether she is acting, painting, or speaking out, Sharon Stone continues to show that confidence and creativity do not fade with time.
