Sydney Sweeney recently spoke openly about her work on screen, especially when it comes to filming intimate scenes. In a recent interview with W Magazine, she made it clear that these moments do not make her feel uncomfortable.

“I don’t get nervous,” she said. “I think that the female body is a very powerful thing. And I’m telling my character’s story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done.”

The actress, known for her role in Euphoria, explained that while she can feel anxious in other situations like live performances or public appearances, acting in front of the camera without clothes does not affect her in the same way. For her, it is part of the job and part of telling a story.

Sweeney has taken on roles that include nudity before, including in The Voyeurs. She said these choices are always tied to the character and the script, not done just for attention. In earlier comments to The Independent, she also shared that she had conversations about what would be shown on screen, including working closely with creator Sam Levinson to agree on certain scenes.

At the same time, Sweeney has been honest about the downside. She believes her acting in Euphoria was often overlooked because of the focus on her nude scenes. She said this has been frustrating, especially when compared to how male actors are treated.

“I’m very proud of my work in ‘Euphoria.’ I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked,” she said in a past interview.

She also spoke about what she sees as a double standard in the industry.

“When a guy has a s** scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different.”

Outside of these discussions, Sweeney has been pushing herself in new ways. She recently prepared for a role as boxer Christy Martin, going through intense training and physical changes. She described the experience as demanding but rewarding, saying it made her feel stronger than ever.

Even with her success, she has faced criticism online about her appearance during that transformation. She responded by sharing her training journey and showing the hard work behind the role.

Her approach to acting remains clear. She focuses on the character and the story, even if it means facing criticism or misunderstanding along the way.

Sweeney raises a fair point about how actors are judged differently. It’s clear she takes her work seriously and makes choices based on the role, not just attention. The conversation about double standards in film is still ongoing, and voices like hers keep it active. What do you think about this topic? Do you agree with her view, or see it differently?
