Megan Thee Stallion will end her run on Broadway earlier than planned, with her final performance in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” now set for May 1. The update comes from Deadline.

She was originally scheduled to stay with the production until mid-May, so this marks a shorter engagement than first announced. Megan joined the show on March 24 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York, taking on the role of Zidler in her Broadway debut.

The engagement was meant to run for eight weeks, and it quickly gained attention from both theater fans and the public. Her presence also helped bring strong ticket sales to the production.

In her statement, Megan confirmed the change in schedule and thanked the cast and crew. “Unfortunately, my last performance on Moulin Rouge! The Musical will be May 1.”

She also spoke about her experience working on Broadway and praised the people behind the show. “It’s been such an honor to be part of Moulin Rouge and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater! Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work! Every single person at the Moulin Rouge has inspired me to go harder as an entertainer.”

She added more appreciation for the team and her fans. “I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. Y’all are really some of the kindest human beings I’ve ever met! To all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey!”

No official reason was given for her early exit. During her time in the show, Megan’s presence had a clear impact on ticket sales. Reports show weekly earnings rose above $1 million after she joined, with one week reaching about $1.6 million. Before her arrival, numbers were much lower.

Her run also included a health issue. On March 31, she became ill during a performance and was later treated for exhaustion and dehydration. She returned to the stage shortly after.

The show itself will continue on Broadway until late August, and producers are expected to announce a replacement soon.

The timing of her departure has also drawn public attention because it comes shortly after news of her breakup with NBA player Klay Thompson. She later confirmed the split, saying trust and respect were key reasons for her decision to move on.

A viral video also showed her getting emotional during a curtain call performance, which added more attention to her recent personal changes.

This situation shows how fast things can change in both a stage career and personal life. Megan still managed to make a strong impact on Broadway in a short time. What do you think about her early exit from the show? Share your thoughts in the comments.
