Olivia Dunne is stepping into a new phase of her career as she joins the upcoming reboot of Baywatch, and she has now shared new behind-the-scenes moments from the set.

The update comes through posts shared on her Instagram story, where Dunne gave fans a look at filming taking place in Malibu. The project brings together a mix of social media stars and actors as part of a modern version of the classic 1990s series.

Dunne, who recently moved on from her gymnastics career at LSU, is making her acting debut in the show. She plays a junior lifeguard in a recurring role as part of the new lifeguard team on the Los Angeles coastline.

According to coverage of the production, she has been working alongside a cast that includes Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Brooks Nader, and Noah Beck.

The reboot is being produced by Fox, which ordered a new 12-episode version of the series. The story focuses on a new generation of lifeguards, with the son of the original character Mitch Buchannon taking over leadership of the team.

Dunne finished her gymnastics career in 2025 after her final season with the LSU Tigers. Since then, she has been expanding into media and entertainment work.

Alongside filming, she has also been balancing a busy personal schedule, including attending events and supporting her boyfriend, MLB pitcher Paul Skenes. She has shared videos online describing her fast-paced routine between travel, filming, and games.

In her own words shared on social media, she described her schedule in a casual way, saying: “Wake up, watch MLB boyfriend pitch… jet to LA… film an episode of Baywatch…” before listing multiple trips and events packed into a short period.

Dunne has also spoken before about wanting to explore acting. She said: “It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school.”

The casting of influencers and social media personalities in the reboot has sparked mixed reactions online, with some surprised by the direction of the show. Still, the cast appears focused on production and building the new version of the series.

It will be interesting to see how this reboot balances nostalgia with a modern cast that comes from very different backgrounds. Olivia Dunne’s move into acting is also a big shift, and it could either open new doors for her or bring a lot of pressure depending on how the show performs.
