‘Baywatch’ Reboot Cast Grows With 14 Fresh Faces as 2 OG Actors Make Their Comeback
The upcoming “Baywatch” reboot is moving ahead with production already underway. The series is being developed for Fox and is planned for the 2026–2027 TV season. It has a 12-episode order, and filming has been going on for more than a month.
The new version of the story brings a mix of old and new characters. At the center is Hobie Buchannon, who is now grown up and working as a Baywatch captain. His life changes when a young woman named Charlie arrives and reveals she is his daughter. She wants to join the lifeguard team and follow the Buchannon family path. Another familiar face is Cody Madison, who now runs a beach bar and still works as a lifeguard from time to time.
Erika Eleniak is returning to the franchise as Shauni McClain. In the new story, Shauni has moved into politics as a city councilwoman but comes back to the beach for a special event involving lifeguards and coast guard teams. David Chokachi also returns as Cody Madison. He is now running a beach bar called The Shoreline while still stepping in for rescues when needed.
Stephen Amell leads the new cast as Hobie Buchannon, now a captain following in his father’s footsteps. Jessica Belkin plays Charlie Vale, Hobie’s daughter, who arrives wanting to become part of the lifeguard world. Hassie Harrison joins as Nat, a strong and skilled lifeguard who works closely with Hobie.
The main cast also includes Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, a former Marine trying to adjust to teamwork on the beach. Brooks Nader plays Selene, a strict lifeguard captain who often clashes with Hobie. Noah Beck appears as Luke, a young rookie lifeguard learning under pressure. Shay Mitchell takes on the role of Trina, a former lawyer who chooses lifeguarding as a new path in life.
Several recurring roles have also been announced. Livvy Dunne plays Grace, a junior lifeguard. Ashley Moore joins as Jasmine, a skilled but tough rookie. Kylar Miranda plays Diego, an experienced lifeguard and team handyman. Luke Eisner appears as Koya, Luke’s close friend. Nadia Gray plays Lisa, an EMT working with the team. Charlie McElveen is Ethan, a lawyer who questions Trina’s choices.
Eric Roberts will also appear in a guest role, though details about his character have not been shared yet.
The reboot is being led by showrunner Matt Nix, with McG directing the first episode. The production aims to bring a modern version of the beach rescue world while keeping connections to the original series.
This reboot has a lot of potential because it mixes nostalgia with a fresh cast and new storylines. Bringing back original actors while adding many new faces is a smart move, but it also carries risk if the balance does not work well. What do you think about this new “Baywatch” direction?
