The first images of Thomasin McKenzie as Audrey Hepburn have arrived, and the resemblance is striking enough to make even the most skeptical biopics skeptic take notice.

Deadline released the exclusive first-look photos of McKenzie and Ansel Elgort as Hepburn and fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy in ‘Dinner With Audrey’, with the film currently in production in Budapest, Hungary.

McKenzie is seen in a classic black dress with a red lip and Hepburn’s signature upswept hairstyle, capturing the icon’s understated elegance with remarkable precision.

Set in 1953 Paris, the film follows a 24-year-old Hepburn on the brink of international stardom but privately full of insecurities, who arrives at the house of an exhausted young de Givenchy after being sent by director Billy Wilder to source an authentic wardrobe for her upcoming film ‘Sabrina’. Despite his initial refusal, her persistence wins him over, and over the course of a single whirlwind night, the two take professional risks for one another, marking the beginning of their legendary forty-year creative partnership.

Director Abe Sylvia, known for ‘Palm Royale’ and ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’, leads the production from a screenplay written and executive produced by Kara Holden. Alongside the first-look photos, it was also confirmed that two-time Oscar nominee Miranda Richardson has joined the cast as Hepburn’s mother Ella Van Heemstra, and Judy Greer will portray legendary Hollywood costume designer Edith Head. Two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon is also part of the ensemble, though his role has not yet been disclosed.

De Givenchy’s influence on Hepburn’s career extended well beyond ‘Sabrina’, as he went on to serve as the head of her wardrobe across beloved classics including ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, ‘Funny Face’, ‘How to Steal a Million’, and ‘Charade’. The friendship that began that night in Paris became one of the most celebrated creative partnerships in the history of both film and fashion.

The first-look photography was shot by Sophie Elgort, a celebrated fashion photographer whose work has appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and The Financial Times, and who also happens to be the sister of star Ansel Elgort. The choice adds a quietly poetic layer to the project, placing a family member behind the lens to document the film’s visual identity.

‘Dinner With Audrey’ is scheduled for theatrical release on June 16. Hyde Park International will present the film to international distributors at the Cannes Film Festival this month. With McKenzie already drawing comparisons to the real Hepburn in the first images alone, anticipation for this one is building fast.
