Legal fights between actors in Hollywood often turn messy, expensive, and very public. They can drag on for months or even years, and even when they end, the details are sometimes unclear or kept private. Settlements like these often leave more questions about money and blame than clear answers.

That seems to be the case with the dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni over the film It Ends With Us. According to TMZ, which says it is reporting from sources with direct knowledge, the case has now ended in a settlement where no money was exchanged between the two actors.

TMZ reports that Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni during a difficult production period, but in the end she did not receive any payout. The same report says the only group that clearly benefited financially were the lawyers involved on both sides.

The outlet also says there was tension behind the scenes before the agreement was reached. According to TMZ, Lively brought in a new law firm called Sussman Godfrey during the final stages of the case. The firm is described as a major litigation group with a history of large legal wins, including billion-dollar cases.

Despite that move, the case did not go to trial. TMZ says the settlement happened without an apology from Baldoni and without any public admission of wrongdoing from either side.

The dispute came from issues during the production of It Ends With Us, a 2024 film directed by Baldoni and starring both him and Lively. The legal battle included claims and countersuits, with both sides accusing the other of serious misconduct and reputation damage.

Some of the claims were already weakened in court before the settlement. A judge had previously dismissed parts of both sides’ lawsuits, which also helped push the case toward a resolution.

TMZ says the outcome avoided a trial that could have put both actors under intense public questioning. The report also states that the legal teams involved likely earned large fees during the long process.

The film itself, based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, was released in 2024 and still performed strongly at the box office despite the controversy surrounding it.
