Netflix’s ‘The Night Agent’ Adds Several New Cast Members Ahead of Final Season

A major streaming series is preparing for its final chapter, and production updates are already drawing attention. The show has grown into one of the platform’s most popular titles since its debut, and its last season is now starting to take shape with new casting announcements.

The series The Night Agent is officially moving into its fourth and final season, with filming set to begin in May in Los Angeles after earlier seasons were shot in New York. The show stars Gabriel Basso in the lead role as Peter Sutherland, a character who has been at the center of the story since the beginning.

According to Deadline, several new actors are joining the cast for the final season. Abigail Breslin and David Denman are joining in major roles, while Annabeth Gish will appear in a recurring part. Other new series regulars include Titus Welliver, Trevante Rhodes, Li Jun Li, and Elizabeth Lail.

Each of the new characters connects directly to the show’s ongoing storylines. Breslin plays a young FBI agent involved in an investigation tied to Night Action. Denman’s character is a veteran CIA officer with a long background in counterterror work. Lail joins as Zoe, a figure from Peter’s past, while Rhodes plays his new partner Dom. Welliver takes on the role of a special prosecutor leading a major case tied to the central conspiracy.

The announcement also came alongside a statement from series creator Shawn Ryan, who confirmed that this will be the final season of the show.

He said, “Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey. I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.”

The show, which is based on the novel by The Night Agent, follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland as he becomes involved in a deep government conspiracy while trying to protect key witnesses and uncover hidden threats. Since its release on Netflix in 2023, the series has become one of the platform’s most-watched titles and has been renewed multiple times due to strong viewership.

With production now moving forward, the final season is expected to bring together returning characters and new faces as the story moves toward its conclusion.
