Nick Cannon’s Accountant Accused of Stealing $2 Million Before Fleeing the U.S.
Nick Cannon is reportedly at the center of a major financial fraud case after federal prosecutors accused his former business manager of stealing more than $2 million from him over several years.
According to information first reported by TMZ, prosecutors recently filed an eight-count indictment against Frank Musoke, a former account manager who worked at a Beverly Hills financial management and tax company that handled money for wealthy celebrity clients. While court documents do not directly mention Cannon by name, sources told TMZ that he is the alleged victim in the case.
Federal authorities claim Musoke had access to Cannon’s financial accounts, debit cards, and PIN numbers because of his position at the company. Prosecutors say he secretly used that access between late 2019 and mid-2023 to take money for personal use without Cannon’s knowledge.
Investigators allege Musoke withdrew around $1.7 million from ATMs during that time. They also claim he spent more than $165,000 on Amazon purchases, nearly $192,000 on personal travel, and over $160,000 on other personal expenses.
According to prosecutors, the alleged fraud was discovered in July 2023, when the financial firm noticed missing money and fired Musoke. Authorities also accuse him of hiding more than $1.7 million in income on federal tax returns filed between 2021 and 2023. Because of that, he now faces tax evasion charges in addition to wire fraud accusations.
The report states Musoke is believed to have left the United States and may currently be in Uganda, where he reportedly has dual citizenship. If convicted, he could face decades in prison, including up to 20 years for each wire fraud charge.
TMZ also reported that Cannon had reportedly been a client of the management company for nearly two decades. So far, Cannon’s representatives have not publicly commented on the case. The Federal Bureau of Investigation also declined to comment, according to the outlet.
