The new comedy series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe now has an official premiere date and a first teaser trailer.

The show is set in the world of The Big Bang Theory and follows Stuart Bloom, played by Kevin Sussman. In this new series, Stuart accidentally breaks reality and ends up dealing with a collapsing multiverse. The teaser shows him trying to fix the chaos, but things clearly do not go well for him.

The series has been described as a continuation of the sitcom universe that already includes spin-offs like Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. HBO Max confirmed that the show will premiere on July 23.

The story focuses on Stuart Bloom, a comic book store owner who is forced to repair reality after he damages a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. This mistake leads to what is described as a multiverse disaster.

The official description explains that Stuart is not alone in this situation. He is joined by his girlfriend Denise, played by Lauren Lapkus, his friend Bert, played by Brian Posehn, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke, played by John Ross Bowie. Together, they try to fix the broken multiverse while dealing with alternate versions of familiar characters.

The teaser shows strange and chaotic events, including wormholes, giant creatures, and multiple versions of Stuart himself. The tone suggests a mix of comedy and science fiction, with a strong focus on constant failure and problem-solving gone wrong.

One of the actors, Brian Posehn, spoke about the show during an appearance at CCXP Mexico City. He said, “The fun is watching him fail every week.” This reflects the series’ comedic approach, where Stuart’s attempts to fix problems often lead to more chaos.

Kevin Sussman also commented on his character’s storyline, especially the relationship between Stuart and Denise. He said, “When The Big Bang Theory ended, our relationship was just budding, and now you can see where it goes.”

The series was created by Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady, and Zak Penn. All three also serve as executive producers. The show is produced through Chuck Lorre’s production company in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television.

With the release date now set and the first teaser out, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is officially joining the growing lineup of spin-offs expanding the world of The Big Bang Theory, this time with a heavy focus on multiverse chaos and comedic disaster.
