Universal Pictures has shared the first look image and voice cast for CoComelon: The Movie, the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the popular children’s animated series.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on February 19, 2027, and is based on the globally successful CoComelon franchise, which first became a hit through its YouTube channel and later expanded into multiple spin-offs and streaming projects.
According to Universal Pictures and related production companies, the movie will follow JJ and his friends on a new adventure, introducing additional original characters alongside familiar faces from the series. JJ will be voiced by Connor Esterson, while other main roles include Camden Brooks as Cody, Olivia London Leyva as Nina, and Aerina DeBoer as CeCe.
The film also features a major celebrity voice cast. SZA, Ike Barinholtz, Nicholas Hoult, and Sarah Sherman are among the stars lending their voices. Additional voice roles will be played by Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Rhys Darby, and Cristo Fernández.
The project comes from Moonbug Entertainment, the company behind CoComelon, along with Flywheel Media and Prime Focus Studios. Animation work is being handled by DNEG Group. The film is directed by Kat Good, known for her work on Kung Fu Panda, while Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Justin Tranter is serving as executive music producer.
CoComelon has become one of the most recognizable preschool brands in the world, known for its colorful animation and catchy sing-along songs. The franchise has also expanded into spin-offs such as CoComelon Lane, Cody Time, Nina’s Familia, and JJ’s Animal Time.
The new movie marks a major step for the franchise as it moves from streaming success into a full theatrical release with a large ensemble voice cast and a global release planned for 2027.
