Fortnite is teaming up once again with the Star Wars universe, this time to promote the upcoming film The Mandalorian and Grogu through a new in-game experience called the Watch Party Island. The collaboration brings early footage, themed gameplay, and interactive missions directly into the popular game.

According to information shared by Epic Games and reported by entertainment outlets, players will be able to watch the first 10 minutes of the film starting Tuesday inside Fortnite. The special island is designed as an interactive space where players can explore locations inspired by the movie while also getting a preview of what’s coming to cinemas.

The experience is built around the planet Nevarro, a key setting from The Mandalorian series. The island recreates familiar locations such as the city streets and Imperial-controlled areas. Players can team up to defend the city from Imperial forces while moving through different zones based on the Star Wars universe.

Director Jon Favreau is also set to appear on the island for a live Q&A session on May 26. In a preview message shared earlier, Favreau described the experience by saying, “It drops you into Nevarro with your friends.” He also explained that the same creative teams who worked on the film helped build the Fortnite version of the world, making it closely connected to the movie’s design and atmosphere.

The project was developed with Fairview Portals and Beyond Creative, alongside Epic Games. Lucasfilm executive James Waugh said the goal was to expand how fans experience the franchise. He explained that Star Wars continues to connect with new generations by giving audiences different ways to engage with its stories and worlds.

Beyond watching the film preview, players can take part in missions inside the island. Teams of up to 12 players can fight alongside characters like IG-11 while completing objectives tied to defending Nevarro. The experience also includes smaller side interactions, such as helping Grogu with special tasks.

Players who spend time in the island can also unlock a reward, including a Mandalorian-themed loading screen featuring concept art from the film. Additional cosmetic items, such as the Mandalorian outfit, are also being released in Fortnite’s in-game shop.

The Watch Party Island is part of a growing trend of Star Wars collaborations inside Fortnite. Epic Games has expanded its Creative tools to allow more Star Wars-inspired content, including fan-made maps and official experiences. Previous creations include themed game modes and custom missions that let players explore different parts of the galaxy.

Developers have used the new tools to create a variety of experiences, from action-focused battles to exploration maps. This latest collaboration builds on that system and pushes it further by directly connecting gameplay with a major film release.

With early footage, developer commentary, and interactive missions all combined in one space, the Watch Party Island is designed to bring fans closer to the world of The Mandalorian and Grogu ahead of its theatrical release.
