Sebastian Stan Drops Mysterious New Tease About His Role in ‘The Batman Part II’
Sebastian Stan has opened up about his role in The Batman Part II, and his comments have sparked a lot of talk among fans. The information comes from a recent interview where Stan discusses the film, his character, and the direction of the project. He also touches on how challenging and ambitious the movie seems to be during production.
Stan says he is taking on a complicated role in the film and hints that it will not be a simple one. He describes the experience in a way that suggests his character may go through different stages or identities throughout the story.
He said, “I’m excited, I’m nervous and trying to keep surprising myself,” while talking about working on the character of Two-Face and collaborating with the hair and makeup teams who are designing his disfigurement.
According to reports about the film, Stan is expected to play Harvey Dent, a well-known figure from DC Comics who eventually becomes the villain Two-Face. Harvey Dent is one of Gotham City’s most important legal figures before his transformation.
After a tragic accident that damages his face, he develops a split personality and becomes Two-Face, a criminal who makes decisions based on chance using a coin flip. This dual nature is likely what Stan is referring to when he says he will play “many roles in this one.”
Stan has also spoken before about how big the project feels compared to other films he has worked on.
He says the creative team is aiming high and trying to build something much larger than audiences might expect. He explained, “It’s a challenge, like everything else. I feel like it’s a really ambitious movie and I think if we do it all right — and obviously I’m so excited about Matt Reeves because he’s been one of my favorites for a long, long time — I really think it’s going to blow people away. It’s going to surprise a lot of people, I think, too.” The information comes from his earlier interviews where he discussed the direction of the sequel.
The film will once again focus on Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne in The Batman universe, continuing the darker and grounded version of Gotham City. Returning actors include Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. Barry Keoghan is also expected to return as the Joker, although details about his role remain unclear.
There are also reports that Scarlett Johansson may appear as Gilda Dent, Harvey Dent’s wife, and Charles Dance could play Harvey’s father. These details have not been fully confirmed but are circulating in entertainment news coverage.

The story of The Batman Part II is expected to focus more on Bruce Wayne himself, not just Batman. It is said to explore Gotham City after the events of the first film and the spin-off series The Penguin. The city is expected to be more unstable, with growing corruption and political tension shaping the background of the story.
Stan also shared his thoughts on why superhero stories remain popular. He believes characters like Batman and Spider-Man continue to connect with audiences because they reflect people trying to find their identity. He said, “Obviously there’s a reason why Batman’s been re-occurring for so many years, and why so many kids love Spider-Man.” He added, “It’s about a kid being odd and figuring his way into things. And it works in very subtle ways.”
The Batman Part II is currently scheduled to be released on October 1, 2027, according to studio plans. Filming is expected to begin in 2026 in England and Scotland, after delays related to script development.
