Jeffrey Dean Morgan has once again sparked excitement among fans of The Walking Dead universe after talking about a possible reunion with his former Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles in The Walking Dead: Dead City. The idea has been floating around for a while, but Morgan made it clear he would still love to see it happen.

The comments originally came from a fan convention panel in Burbank, where Morgan spoke about the idea of Ackles joining the Dead City world. The discussion, shared through fan recordings and later reported via YouTube sources, shows Morgan openly encouraging the crossover.

“Yeah, that would just be phenomenal to see. Yeah, funny enough, we had a conversation a couple of weeks ago about it… um, I think so. I mean, I’d love to have him; he would love to come and do it – sometimes, our schedules won’t quite work out the way we want them to,” Morgan said.

He also added that the idea is something both actors have talked about before, but timing is always the biggest issue. Both Morgan and Ackles have busy schedules, which has made it hard to line up a project together.

Morgan did not hide his enthusiasm, making it clear he would jump at the chance if the opportunity came up again. His comments suggest the idea is not just fan wishful thinking, but something that has been discussed directly between the two actors.

Jensen Ackles also spoke about his working relationship with friends in the industry and how those connections often lead to future collaborations. His comments were shared in the same broader discussion and reflect his openness to working with people he trusts.

“This is a real sweet spot, I think, in both our careers, that we can have dear friends who are thriving in a multitude of shows and movies and stuff in this industry. In this industry, people like to work with people they trust, and so now I have,” Ackles said.

He went on to explain that actors often get invited to join projects by friends, but scheduling conflicts are usually what stop those plans from happening. Still, he made it clear that he values any chance to work with people he already knows and respects.

“But like Jeff said, a lot of it comes down to availability and whether or not they can work that out,” he added.

Ackles also ended on a hopeful note, saying that any opportunity to share the screen again would be welcome. While he did not confirm any specific plans, his comments suggest he is open to the idea if the timing works out.

The Walking Dead: Dead City continues to expand the franchise that began with the original The Walking Dead series. The show follows Maggie and Negan as they travel through a dangerous version of Manhattan filled with threats, rival groups, and survival struggles. It has already been renewed for multiple seasons, showing strong ongoing interest from viewers.

Morgan reprises his role as Negan in the series, alongside Lauren Cohan as Maggie. The show has built its story around their uneasy alliance as they search for Maggie’s kidnapped son in a lawless version of New York City.

The idea of bringing Jensen Ackles into this world has not been confirmed, but Morgan’s comments have reignited fan interest. Whether it becomes reality will depend on scheduling and future creative decisions, but both actors have made it clear they are open to the idea.
