Joe and Anthony Russo are once again drawing attention to Avengers: Doomsday, this time with a very simple and confusing post on Instagram that has fans trying to decode what it means. The filmmakers shared a plain green colour swatch with no caption or explanation, and it quickly spread across social media.

At first glance, the post looks almost like a mistake. There is no logo, no character image, and no teaser footage. Just a flat green screen. Fans immediately started guessing what it could be connected to, especially since Marvel Studios is known for hiding clues in small details.

Some viewers think the green colour could point to Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, since green is often linked to the character in Marvel comics. Others argue that the shade does not fully match Doom’s usual design, so the meaning is still unclear. What made things more interesting is that the post included tagged accounts such as Marvel Studios, Avengers, AGBO, Robert Downey Jr., and SXSW London.

That last tag has sparked even more discussion. The Russo brothers are set to appear at SXSW London on June 2 for two speaking sessions. According to event details, they will mainly talk about their production company AGBO, but fans believe there could be a bigger Marvel-related surprise during the appearance.

There is no official confirmation that a trailer or teaser will drop at the event. However, the timing of the post and the choice of tags have led to speculation that Marvel may be planning an early reveal for Avengers: Doomsday. If that were the case, it would likely be one of the first major looks at the film since production updates have stayed mostly private.

At the moment, reshoots for Avengers: Doomsday are happening in London. There have been no leaked set photos so far, likely because filming has remained indoors. That could change if production moves to more public locations in the coming months.

The film itself has faced several delays. It is now scheduled to release on December 18, while its sequel Avengers: Secret Wars is planned for December 17, 2027. Both films are part of the MCU’s ongoing multiverse storyline.

Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to direct after previously working on some of the biggest Marvel films, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. In a past statement shared after a San Diego Comic-Con panel, they said: “Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a life-long dream of ours, and we’re thrilled to collaborate once again with Kevin Feige and the entire Marvel team.”

The cast for Doomsday is one of the largest in Marvel history. It includes actors such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Simu Liu, and many others from across different Marvel timelines and franchises. The story is expected to bring together heroes from multiple universes to face Doctor Doom as a major multiverse threat.

For now, the green image remains unexplained. Whether it is a hidden clue, a simple visual teaser, or just part of the promotion strategy, Marvel fans will likely not have to wait long to find out more.
