The future of The Madison is already getting attention as one of the show’s returning actors has shared a new update about when season 2 could arrive.

The Madison is a Western drama series created by Taylor Sheridan and released on Paramount+ in March. The show stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell and follows a story centered on family struggles and emotional recovery. It is set across locations in Manhattan and Montana and focuses on how characters deal with loss and rebuilding their lives.

The first season included six episodes and quickly gained strong audience interest after its release. Because of that success, the series has already been linked to more future seasons, with early development discussions pointing toward a longer run for the show.

Ben Schnetzer, who plays Van Davis in the series, shared a possible timeline for what could happen next. He suggested that season 3 may begin filming in early 2027, which could also influence when season 2 is released. However, he made it clear that nothing is officially confirmed yet.

He said, “I think it’s going to be the top of ’27.”

Schnetzer also explained that the production schedule may be planned in a way that connects filming and release timing between seasons. Still, he emphasized that he is not involved in final decisions and is simply sharing his understanding of the schedule as it currently stands.

He added, “Yeah, because I think they’re kind of timing it with the rollout of when they drop season 2 and then kind of…but again, I’m that guy who’s like, ‘Until they tell me I’m…’ So, I’m just stoked we’re going to come back for season 3.”

In The Madison, Schnetzer plays the sheriff of the Madison River Valley, a key location in the series. His character is part of the story surrounding Stacy Clyburn, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, and her family as they deal with personal loss and emotional recovery. The first season finale ended with major changes for Stacy, setting up more storylines for future seasons.

The series also features a large ensemble cast including Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Kevin Zegers, and Rebecca Spence. Guest appearances include Will Arnett and J. August Richards. Matthew Fox, who appeared in season 1, will not return for season 2.

Taylor Sheridan created The Madison and also serves as an executive producer along with several collaborators, including Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. The show follows Sheridan’s pattern of producing character-driven dramas that often become strong streaming hits for Paramount+.

Reports suggest that The Madison performed well in its first week of release, drawing large streaming numbers and strong audience engagement. This success is one of the reasons why the series is expected to continue expanding with additional seasons.

While season 2 has not yet received an official release date, Schnetzer’s comments have added new attention to the show’s future. For now, fans will have to wait for confirmation from Paramount+, but early signs suggest that The Madison is being planned as a long-running part of Taylor Sheridan’s television lineup.
