‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Pop-Up Menu Is Packed With Doctor Doom Easter Eggs That Real Fans Will Lose Their Minds Over

Marvel has always had a knack for turning promotional materials into rabbit holes of lore, and the studio’s latest marketing move for ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ is no exception. Ahead of its highly anticipated theatrical run, Marvel has been steadily building atmosphere around its biggest upcoming release, and the fandom has been paying close attention to every detail dropped along the way.

The latest stunt is tied to SXSW London, where directors Joe and Anthony Russo have been making appearances connected to their production company AGBO. The temporary location, a rebranded version of Flying Horse Coffee in Shoreditch, East London, has been transformed into the Dom Latveria Coffee pop-up, a fully themed experience packed with Doom-inspired branding and collectibles.

The whole thing began with a cryptic Instagram post from the Russo Brothers that included an address and a promise of a “surprise” at 2 pm BST, sending fans into a frenzy of trailer speculation.

What actually awaited them was something far more niche and arguably more rewarding for devoted comics readers. As spotted and shared by @LuminousDagger, the Dom Latveria Coffee menu is essentially a compressed biography of Victor Von Doom rendered in drink form.

The “Fortunov” single espresso references Vladimir Fortunov, the ruthless wartime ruler of Latveria who was eventually overthrown and killed by Doom himself. “The Rapprochement” hot latte nods to the official Latverian holiday of forgiveness, while “Cynthia’s Blend” matcha latte honors Doom’s mother, a Romani sorceress.

The “Zefiro” flat white references the Zefiro Clan, the Romani people persecuted by Fortunov and the very clan from which Doom’s mother descended. Rounding out the menu is “Hassenstadt Dark” americano, named after the capital of Latveria before Doom conquered it and renamed it Doomstadt.

The level of comic book granularity here is the kind of thing that separates a casual moviegoer from someone who has spent time with decades of Marvel source material.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Hype Crashes After Surprise Reveal Disappoints Fans

Beyond the menu itself, the coffee bags carry the slogan “The Official Coffee of World Domination,” described as “Approved by the Ministry of Morale,” while another line reads “Resistance Is Delicious.” A sign inside the shop also reads “Richards Was Wrong,” a pointed reference to Reed Richards, otherwise known as Mister Fantastic and one of Doctor Doom’s greatest adversaries in the comics.

The reaction online has been mixed but undeniably loud. Many fans laughed at the fact that Marvel managed to generate trailer-level hype for a coffee shop, while others immediately began theorizing about what the Doom lore hints could mean for the film itself. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is currently set for a December 18, 2026 release and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom alongside a sprawling ensemble that includes Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Pedro Pascal, and many more.

The Latverian runes visible on the menu have already sent die-hard MCU fans into overdrive, with many treating the pop-up as a breadcrumb trail that will connect to Easter eggs in the film itself and beyond. Whether the “Richards Was Wrong” sign is teasing a specific rivalry between Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom and Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards or simply winking at established comics canon remains to be seen, but Marvel clearly wants fans asking that exact question. Which Easter egg from the Dom Latveria menu do you think will end up carrying the most weight when the film finally arrives?
