Netflix has introduced a new feature designed especially for people who love books and book-to-screen adaptations.

The new feature is built around the idea of helping viewers easily find movies and series that are based on popular books. Netflix says the goal is to turn the homepage into something closer to a digital bookstore, where users can quickly discover stories they already know or find new ones to watch.

“Watch Your Favorite Books” is not just a simple category list. Instead, it is designed as a dedicated hub that organizes content based on reading tastes and storytelling styles. The feature is inspired by the popularity of book adaptations on the platform and the strong online communities built around them.

According to Netflix, the experience is shaped around different types of readers. These categories are meant to help people find shows and films based on what they enjoy in books. The platform groups viewers into themes such as character-driven stories, romance, fantasy worlds, and more.

Some of the featured reading styles include people who enjoy strong character-focused stories, viewers who like detailed world-building, fans of plot twists, and those who prefer romantic storylines. There are also sections for nonfiction fans, history lovers, younger audiences, manga and comic readers, and people who enjoy web-based stories.

The idea is to make browsing feel more personal and less random. Instead of scrolling endlessly, users can enter a section that matches their reading habits and immediately find related shows and films.

Netflix explained the motivation behind the feature through a statement from Mansi Patel, Senior Director of Product Merchandising. She said, “We’ve seen a real passion from fans around Netflix’s library of book adaptations. Our team looked to celebrate that fandom by creating a destination on Netflix for enthusiasts to explore their favorites and find more stories they’ll love.”

She added that the feature builds on earlier personalized collections and special recommendation tools already used on the platform. According to Patel, the new hub is designed to make discovery more engaging and more connected to user interests.

The company also highlighted that this new experience is part of a wider effort to improve how users find content. Netflix has been working on redesigning its interface and adding more personalized categories that reflect different viewing habits and interests.

The “Watch Your Favorite Books” hub is also meant to bring together a wide range of book-based content in one place. This includes both classic adaptations and newer releases, giving users a central destination for literary-inspired entertainment.

Netflix says the feature is now available globally. It can be found on the homepage, through search, and directly via netflix.com/books starting June 2.

The announcement also suggests that the platform sees strong potential in book adaptations as a growing category. By linking reading preferences with viewing suggestions, Netflix hopes to create a more connected experience between literature and screen storytelling.

With this launch, Netflix is clearly aiming to make discovery more personal for readers and viewers alike, especially those who already enjoy comparing books with their on-screen adaptations.
