With the release of Supergirl just around the corner, excitement around the DCU is building fast.

The film, directed in a style inspired by Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Woman of Tomorrow comic, is set to expand the new DC universe with Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and a returning David Corenswet as Superman.

To mark the countdown, Warner Bros has released a clip that gives fans their first real look at Superman and Supergirl’s earliest on-screen meeting in the DCU timeline. The clip shows Clark Kent arriving at the Fortress of Solitude shortly after Kara’s ship lands on Earth. She arrives with Krypto, who immediately reacts with suspicion toward Superman, setting up an awkward and tense introduction between the Kryptonian relatives.

The moment is made more complicated by the fact that Kara and Clark cannot communicate easily at first. Kara speaks Kryptonian, while Clark does not, which leads to confusion during their first interaction. Despite this, Clark tries to calm the situation and reassure her. In the clip, he tells Kara, “there’s a lot more to Earth than just this place: big city, lots of stuff to do, and you’ll also learn to love this place, just like I have. I promise.”

The clip, first shared through Warner Bros in collaboration with entertainment coverage partners, is being used to highlight how different Kara and Clark’s experiences of Krypton and Earth really are. Clark grew up on Earth after being sent away as an infant, while Kara appears to have lived through the destruction of Krypton more directly and carries a heavier emotional history. This contrast is central to how their relationship is expected to develop in the DCU.

Krypto also plays a noticeable role in the scene. The dog immediately becomes protective of Kara and remains wary of Clark, even though he is clearly not a threat. This continues the established portrayal of Krypto as emotionally reactive and strongly bonded to Kara, reinforcing the idea that she is entering Earth with limited trust in her surroundings.

Another small but notable detail in the clip is Kara’s reaction to Superman’s costume. The scene lightly plays with humor as she questions his outfit, reflecting how alien Earth customs appear to her. It also emphasizes how Kara is still adjusting to Earth’s culture and norms, even while beginning to develop her powers under the yellow sun.

According to Warner Bros promotional material and coverage tied to the clip’s release, this meeting is positioned as a key early moment in Kara’s journey. It shows her arrival at the Fortress of Solitude and hints at her early adaptation period before she fully integrates into Earth society.

The sequence also suggests that Kara’s language barrier is temporary, likely resolved through Kryptonian technology inside the Fortress or assistance from Superman’s systems. While the exact timeline is not fully clarified, it is implied that this meeting occurs early in both characters’ shared history on Earth.

As Supergirl approaches release, this first meeting between Superman and Supergirl is being framed as an emotional foundation for their relationship in the DCU, showing two very different survivors of Krypton trying to understand each other while figuring out what Earth means to them.
