“Persona 4 Revival” now has an official release date. The game will launch on February 18, 2027, with availability confirmed on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC. The announcement was made during the Xbox showcase, where the first gameplay trailer was also shown.

The reveal also confirmed that the game will be included with Xbox Game Pass at launch. This means subscribers will be able to play the full remake on day one without needing to purchase it separately on Xbox platforms and PC Game Pass.

“Persona 4 Revival” is a full remake of the original “Persona 4,” one of the most highly praised role-playing games in the series. The original game is widely considered one of the best JRPGs ever made, with its expanded version holding a 93 Metascore on Metacritic. The story follows a group of teenagers living in rural Japan as they balance everyday life with exploring mysterious dungeons inside the Midnight Channel.

The announcement was part of the Xbox showcase during Summer Game Fest. He noted that the game’s inclusion in Game Pass was one of the major reveals alongside the release date confirmation.

The first gameplay trailer gave players a closer look at the updated version of the game. It showed the main character and his party fighting enemies inside the Midnight Channel world. The trailer also highlighted improved visuals and updated combat systems while keeping the structure of the original story intact.

The remake was previously teased during an earlier Xbox Games Showcase. At that time, the project was confirmed to be in development, but no gameplay or release timing was shared. The new trailer marks the first real look at how the remake is shaping up.

The story of “Persona 4” remains centered on a group of teenagers who investigate strange murders in a rural town. They discover a hidden world inside a mysterious television channel known as the Midnight Channel. While living normal school lives, they also build friendships and form bonds that help them in battle.

The remake aims to update this experience for modern platforms while keeping the original story structure. Atlus has not confirmed major story changes, but the goal appears to be improving visuals, performance, and gameplay systems for a new generation of players.

The release timing is also notable. “Persona 4 Revival” is scheduled for early 2027, which places it relatively soon after its first full gameplay reveal. This surprised some fans, as remake projects are often shown earlier in development cycles.

With the addition of Game Pass support, Atlus and Sega are continuing their strategy of expanding the Persona series across multiple platforms and services. The game will be available on launch day across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5, making it one of the most widely released entries in the series.

More details about gameplay systems, new features, and potential changes to the original story are expected in future updates leading up to the February 2027 release.
