‘The Odyssey’ Rotten Tomatoes Score Predicted to Be More Than 93%
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is still days away from receiving its full wave of reviews, but prediction markets are already pointing toward another major critical success for the filmmaker. While the review embargo is only now coming to an end, traders are showing plenty of confidence that Nolan’s latest epic will earn one of the year’s strongest Rotten Tomatoes scores.
One of the biggest prediction platforms, Polymarket, suggests there is a very good chance the film will land above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. According to the market, there is a 99% chance that the movie scores at least 80%, an 82% chance that it reaches 90% or higher, and a 34% chance that it climbs above 95%. Those numbers suggest many traders expect The Odyssey to finish somewhere in the low-to-mid 90s, with a score above 93% looking increasingly possible.

Another prediction market, Kalshi, is also showing strong confidence. At the time of writing, Kalshi traders are forecasting a 93.2 % Rotten Tomatoes score for the film. While prediction markets are not guarantees, they reflect where people are willing to put real money based on the information currently available.

Much of that optimism comes from the first reactions shared by critics after the social media embargo was lifted. Full reviews were still under embargo, but several journalists who attended early screenings praised Nolan’s latest film.
Variety senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay praised the adaptation and the work of the creative team behind it. She highlighted Hoyte van Hoytema’s cinematography and Ludwig Göransson’s score, writing, “You could feel the passion in his storytelling. You feel the passion in the crafts and the acting.”
Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes contributor Erik Davis was equally enthusiastic, calling the movie “an absolute triumph” and “a crowning cinematic achievement from one of the great filmmakers of our time.” He also praised its production design, action sequences, and massive scale.
Den of Geek journalist David Crow said the film successfully takes on the difficult task of adapting Homer’s epic into a three-hour movie. He wrote that it brings “more heart than any Nolan film since Interstellar.”
Discussing Film managing editor Andrew J. Salazar also singled out Samantha Morton’s performance as Circe. He wrote that she is “perhaps the best of the entire film and we’re going to be talking about it for years to come. If you know, you know.”
The Odyssey adapts Homer’s famous epic poem and follows King Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, as he fights to return home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Along the way, he faces legendary dangers including the Cyclops, the Sirens, and the Laestrygonians.
Nolan has spoken before about how long he has wanted to bring the story to the screen. In an interview with Time, he explained that he spent years thinking about even the smallest details of the adaptation. Speaking about the famous Trojan Horse sequence, Nolan said, “If the horse were sinking into the sand and about to be swept away by the tide, the Trojans would never believe there could be anybody in there. They would be rescuing this thing from the waves and dragging it into the city as a prize. It wouldn’t be on wheels, like a roller skate.”
What do you think 'The Odyssey' will score on Rotten Tomatoes?
With the review embargo now ending and critics preparing to publish their full reviews, it won’t be long before prediction markets are tested against real Rotten Tomatoes scores. For now, both Kalshi and Polymarket point to the same conclusion: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is expected to become one of the best-reviewed movies of 2026.
