Marvel’s marketing campaign for its next major crossover event has settled into a familiar rhythm by now, steadily doling out character-focused artwork rather than revealing everything about the film’s massive ensemble all at once. That piecemeal approach has kept fans consistently engaged for months, with each new drop offering fresh confirmation of who’s actually sharing the screen when the film finally arrives.

The latest wave of that campaign has now surfaced, putting a fresh spotlight on four key figures at the center of the story. New promotional artwork for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ gives fans an updated look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom alongside Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Letitia Wright’s Black Panther, and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.

This isn’t the first time this particular grouping has appeared together in the film’s marketing. According to Maxblizz, earlier artwork sourced from Cerda Group already confirmed a roster spanning ten characters total, including Doom, Thor, Reed Richards, Captain America, Yelena Belova, The Thing, Gambit, Black Panther, Beast, and Cyclops, suggesting Marvel has been building toward these specific pairings for some time.

Across nearly every piece of promotional material released so far, Doctor Doom has consistently been positioned as the singular, unifying threat pulling together heroes from across the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. That framing has held steady throughout the campaign, with Doom typically shown looming over or standing apart from the assembled heroes in a way that visually reinforces his role as the film’s central antagonist.

Robert Downey Jr. has spoken publicly about the process of developing his take on the character, describing an evolving creative approach behind the scenes. “A lot of it has been…there’s some experimentation. We’ve had our moments of, ‘Let’s shift here.’ But we landed in a place that I think will more than suffice. And it’s not even about how I executed it,” Downey said, according to ComicBookMovie.

That experimentation appears to have paid off in the final costume and character design now being featured across multiple pieces of official art, giving fans a consistent visual language for Doom heading into the film’s release.

Shuri’s Black Panther appearing alongside Sam Wilson’s Captain America marks a notable moment for the franchise, representing a new generation of heroes stepping into legacy roles once held by other characters entirely. That pairing reflects the broader theme running throughout ‘Avengers: Doomsday’s’ marketing, which has consistently emphasized how the film blends longtime Avengers stalwarts with newer additions to the MCU roster.

Yelena Belova’s continued presence across nearly every wave of promotional art also suggests her role in the film carries significant weight, positioning Florence Pugh’s character as one of the story’s more central figures rather than a background addition to the ensemble.

With Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, and Paul Rudd all confirmed among the film’s cast, the scale of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ continues to grow with each new promotional reveal. The Russo brothers return to direct the film after previously helming ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, with its follow-up, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ scheduled for December 2027. As the countdown to release continues, fans can likely expect even more character-focused artwork to surface in the coming months.
