New ‘Visionquest’ Set Photo Gives Fans Their Best Look Yet at Todd Stashwick’s Paladin, the MCU’s Own Boba Fett

Marvel Television has spent months building anticipation for ‘VisionQuest,’ the Disney+ series bringing Paul Bettany back to explore Vision’s fractured memory and identity following the events of ‘WandaVision.’ With the show’s October 14 premiere steadily approaching, Marvel has been rolling out steady drops of casting reveals, trailer footage, and behind-the-scenes glimpses to keep fans engaged.

That rollout has included a growing ensemble surrounding Bettany’s Vision, featuring James Spader returning as Ultron alongside a host of other MCU AI characters brought to life in human form, including Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., and James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. The show also introduces Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff, continuing a thread first set up in ‘Agatha All Along.’

Now, a new set photo shared by TheDirect has given fans their most detailed look yet at one of the series’ most anticipated new characters: Todd Stashwick’s Paladin, a bounty hunter tasked with tracking down Vision himself. The image offers the clearest view so far of the character’s full costume, following his brief appearance in the show’s official trailer that debuted at this year’s D23 Expo.

Paladin’s addition to the MCU has generated plenty of buzz since showrunner Terry Matalas first revealed the casting back at Star Trek Las Vegas 2025. Speaking on stage at the convention, Matalas described the character in terms fans immediately latched onto, explaining, “Paladin is a bounty hunter. He’s sort of the Boba Fett of the Marvel Universe,” according to Gizmodo’s coverage of the panel.

That comparison has only grown more fitting as additional footage has surfaced, with the character’s helmeted, heavily armored design drawing direct visual parallels to the iconic ‘Star Wars’ mercenary. Stashwick himself has echoed that framing, describing Paladin as a “badass” character in the same vein as previous roles Matalas has written specifically for him across their collaborations.

In Marvel Comics, Paladin has a long history as a mercenary and private investigator, having crossed paths with heroes like Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Luke Cage over the decades. His inclusion in ‘VisionQuest’ marks the character’s first live-action appearance, giving Marvel Television a chance to introduce yet another comics-accurate figure into the growing MCU roster of bounty hunters and morally gray antagonists.

The rest of the show’s cast continues to expand around this central conflict as well, with Mary McDonnell joining in an undisclosed role, Lauren Morais playing Lisa Molinari, and Diane Morgan portraying an associate working alongside Paladin. Composer Mick Giacchino has also been confirmed to handle the series’ score, adding another layer of anticipation for how the show’s tone will come together.

Given how much focus Marvel has placed on Vision’s internal journey through memory and identity, Paladin’s presence as an external threat gives ‘VisionQuest’ a clear source of tension to balance out its more introspective storytelling. With a character explicitly designed to evoke one of pop culture’s most beloved bounty hunters, Stashwick’s role has quickly become one of the most talked-about additions to the show’s ensemble.

As the October 14 premiere date draws closer, expect Marvel to continue rolling out additional looks at Paladin and the rest of the cast, particularly as the studio leans into comparisons that have already captured fan attention online.
