‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 Is Reportedly Being Called the Show’s Best Season Yet

‘Daredevil: Born Again‘ didn’t have the smoothest path to winning fans over. The show underwent a major creative overhaul during its first season, with original writers quietly replaced and Dario Scardapane stepping in as showrunner to rework material that had already been shot, ultimately trimming what was meant to be an eighteen-episode debut down to just nine aired episodes.

Season two proved that shake-up was worth it. Critics praised the follow-up as a genuine improvement over the first season, highlighting stronger pacing, sharper action, and standout performances from Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, with many calling it one of the best projects Marvel Television has produced since the character’s original Netflix run.

Now, ahead of its release, early word on season three is already generating even more excitement. According to a report circulating from industry insider Daniel Richtman, the upcoming third season is being described as the best one yet, a genuinely striking claim given how strong reception to season two already was.

That kind of early praise fits with how deliberately the creative team has approached the show’s evolution. Showrunner Scardapane has said the plan for season three is to return to a street-level story and style, moving away from the mayoral power struggle that defined much of season two and refocusing on the character’s grittier, more grounded roots.

Season two ended with Matt Murdock revealing his identity as Daredevil, landing him in prison for his actions as the masked vigilante, while Wilson Fisk was forced into exile after losing his grip on power as mayor. Season three will need to grapple directly with the fallout from both of those endings, picking up with Murdock behind bars and Fisk attempting some kind of return to the city he once ruled.

The confirmed cast for the new season includes Cox as Matt Murdock, D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, and Margarita Levieva reprising her role as Heather Glenn, who takes on the Muse persona this season. Zabryna Guevara and Arty Froushan are also set to return, alongside a trio of familiar faces from Marvel’s earlier Netflix era: Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand.

That reunion of former Defenders characters alongside Murdock’s own redemption arc gives season three plenty of narrative threads to pull from, particularly with showrunner Scardapane previously teasing that Cole North’s own journey from corrupt cop to genuine ally “is not done yet.” With Murdock now on the inside of a prison system full of people he’s put away, that dynamic alone sets up considerable tension heading into the new episodes.

Filming for the season is expected to continue through early 2026, with a release currently targeted for March 2027, keeping the show on the same annual release rhythm established by its first two seasons. If this early buzz holds up once the season actually premieres, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ would be continuing a rare trend of consecutive quality improvements for a Marvel Television series, something few of the studio’s shows have managed across three straight seasons.
