Brad Pitt Confirms 'Ocean's 14' Is Officially Moving Forward With the Original Crew

Brad Pitt has spent years dodging direct questions about whether the ‘Ocean’s‘ franchise would ever bring its original crew back together, often deflecting with jokes rather than commitments. That reluctance appears to have finally given way to genuine confirmation, marking a significant shift after years of rumors, teased scripts and stalled production timelines.

The ‘Ocean’s’ franchise has remained one of Hollywood’s most beloved heist series since Steven Soderbergh’s 2001 original, but a proper fourth installment has felt perpetually just out of reach. George Clooney first teased a completed script back in 2023, and while momentum has slowly built since then, actual confirmation from the cast itself has remained scarce until now.

That changed during a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, where Pitt confirmed that George Clooney, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts will all return alongside him for ‘Ocean’s 14.’ Asked directly about the reunion, Pitt didn’t hold back his enthusiasm for the material Clooney had put together. “Yeah, we’re figuring that out now,” Pitt said. “George wrote a banger of a script that’s actually worth getting up and going, telling another one.”

Despite his excitement over the script itself, Pitt admitted he’s approaching the actual reunion with some hesitation, given the group’s long history together. He described himself as “a little concerned” about the dynamic once everyone is back on set, predicting that “the hijinks will ensue” among the longtime castmates once filming actually begins.

That kind of chemistry has always been central to what made the original trilogy work, and Clooney has previously described the appeal of returning to these characters decades later. Speaking with Variety, Clooney explained the creative angle behind bringing the crew back for one more job. “There was something about the idea that we’re too old to do what we used to do, but we’re still smart enough to know how to get away with something, that just appeals to me,” Clooney said. “They’ve lost a step, and they need to find a way to work around their limitations.”

Beyond Pitt, Clooney, Damon and Roberts, Don Cheadle is also confirmed to return for the sequel, while Andy Garcia is set to reprise his role as casino owner Terry Benedict. Warner Bros. has already approved the film’s budget, though an official production start date has yet to be finalized.

The road to this point hasn’t been entirely smooth. Filmmakers including Edward Berger were previously in talks to direct the project before ultimately stepping away, reportedly out of respect for Soderbergh’s continued connection to the franchise. David Leitch, known for directing ‘Bullet Train’ and ‘The Fall Guy,’ has since been reported as the frontrunner to take over directing duties, though his involvement hasn’t been formally locked in.

With the script finished, the budget secured and now direct confirmation from Pitt himself, ‘Ocean’s 14’ appears closer to actually happening than at any point in its long, rumor-filled development history. Given how much anticipation has built around seeing this specific ensemble reunite on screen, fans finally have real reason to believe the wait is nearing its end.
