‘Stranger Things’ Star Natalia Dyer Goes Sharp in a Satin-Trimmed Tuxedo Mini at Saint Laurent’s Paris Fashion Week Show

Natalia Dyer spent her 20s playing Nancy Wheeler, and life after ‘Stranger Things’ has included a growing presence in the front rows of fashion week. Few houses suit her polished, understated taste as well as Saint Laurent, where she has become a familiar guest.

She starred as Nancy Wheeler in all five seasons of the Netflix phenomenon, whose final installment garnered 59.6 million views in its first 5 days. That set a record at Netflix for the best premiere-week viewership for an English-language series, and it now ranks as the streamer’s fourth-most-popular English-language series of all time.

With that chapter closed, Dyer has been building her next one, and it includes fashion appearances like this week’s. On September 29, she was photographed at the Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris, and the images have been making the rounds online.

Dyer wore a black double-breasted tuxedo-style blazer dress with wide satin lapels and matching satin cuffs, worn at a mini length. She paired it with pointed black pumps and gold bangles, and wore her light hair pulled back into a sleek style with a soft mauve lip.

She posed in front of the show’s golden Saint Laurent monogram sculpture. The look leaned into the label’s classic tailoring, and it was minimal enough to let the satin details do the work.

The room was packed. Post Malone, Rosé and Rami Malek were among the guests, along with Zoë Saldaña, Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe, Donatella Versace, Mark Ronson, Carla Bruni, Catherine Deneuve and Laura Harrier.

Arrivals leaned hard into the label’s sleek, dark signature, with black tailoring, lace, sheer panels and dramatic silhouettes seen throughout the crowd. The show carried a second meaning for creative director Anthony Vaccarello, who has led the house founded by Yves Saint Laurent in 1961 since taking over as artistic director in 2016.

This is not Dyer’s first time at the house. She attended the Saint Laurent Womenswear Fall/Winter 2023-2024 show in Paris on February 28, 2023, and she was also filmed at a Saint Laurent show in Paris in 2022.

Her repeat appearances suggest a real relationship with the brand. Fan sites have described her as having fashion ‘it girl’ energy, alongside a quiet life in New York and an interest in indie films.

Dyer’s next screen project is ‘Goodbye Girl’, an Amazon MGM Studios rom-com starring Kiernan Shipka and Cole Sprouse. Deadline reported it as her first new project following the end of ‘Stranger Things’, and her role has not been disclosed.

The film follows Jess, played by Shipka, a professional heartbreaker who is hired by a cowardly bride to dump her groom, played by Sprouse, days before the wedding. Jess fumbles the job and falls hopelessly in love. Oran Zegman directs from a screenplay by Danielle Hoover and David Monahan.

It also marks her first movie in a long while, following 2023’s horror film ‘All Fun and Games’. Her earlier credits include Peacock’s ‘Based on a True Story’, ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’ and ‘Yes, God, Yes’.

Saint Laurent closed out one of the busiest days of Paris Fashion Week. Dior showed in the afternoon and Saint Laurent followed at 9 p.m., making September 29 the day to watch for street style.

With 101 houses on the official calendar, this is the largest edition in the event’s history. It runs through October 6, closing out the international fashion month circuit.

For Dyer, a Saint Laurent front-row seat is another sign that her public profile is evolving beyond Nancy Wheeler. Between a rom-com on the way and a growing fashion presence, she is easing into the next stage of her career at her own pace.
