Katy Perry (41) and Selena Gomez (34) Pose Together in Black and Champagne at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit
Few celebrity friendships get as much attention as the one between Katy Perry and Selena Gomez, and the Katy Perry and Selena Gomez Rare Impact Fund Benefit photo is the latest proof. The two pose side by side in a new picture from a night that mixed glamour with a serious cause. It also shows how the event has become one of the most closely watched stops on the fall calendar.
The benefit, titled ‘A Night of Radiance & Reflection,’ took place on October 14 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Gomez hosted the 4th annual edition, with Sean Hayes as emcee and performances from Leon Bridges and Bella Kay. The evening supports youth mental health organizations, and sponsors included Rare Beauty, Afterpay, lululemon, Pacsun, UCLA Health and Ulta Beauty.

Gomez launched the Rare Impact Fund in 2020 alongside Rare Beauty, which donates 1% of all sales to it. The fund aims to mobilize $100 million for youth mental health services and education, and it has already raised more than $30 million. It supports 30 nonprofit partners across 5 continents and reaches an estimated 3.5 million young people each year.

Among the guests was Perry, who attended in support of her longtime friend. In the new photo, taken inside the event under red lighting, the 2 stand arm in arm and smile for the camera. Perry wears a floor-length black gown with thin straps and sparkly bow cutouts, while Gomez wears a pale champagne slip-style dress covered in scattered floral embellishments, paired with silver sandals.

Perry arrived in the Ambrosia Dress by designer Ilkyaz Ozel, a sleek column gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline. Two diamond-shaped cutouts below the bust, each accented with a sparkling white bow, reveal a glimpse of her midriff. She skipped a necklace to let the neckline and bows take center stage.

Her styling stayed simple, with long, sleek dark hair and natural-looking makeup. Fashion outlets praised the mix of classic elegance and modern details, with one saying she effortlessly stole the show. On the red carpet, Perry spoke to Extra about her friend and the initiative’s work to expand access to mental health services for young people.

Gomez had her own fashion moment earlier in the night. On the carpet, she wore a custom red Prada set with a strapless top covered in embellishments and a matching skirt, plus Bucherer jewelry, including Baguette Love earrings and the Inner Fire ring. The champagne dress in the new photo is a clear change of pace from that bold red.
It’s not the first time she has switched outfits at the benefit. At last year’s event, she wore a deep red minidress inside after arriving in a different look. Changing outfits has become part of the evening’s tradition.
Perry was far from the only famous face. Guests included Martin Short, America Ferrera, Witney Carson, Mara Wilson, Mikayla Nogueira, Shay Mitchell, Jordan Chiles and Natalia Bryant, along with Hayes and Bridges. Gomez told People that the fund’s progress is the most incredibly proud thing she could claim.
The benefit has grown steadily since it began. The 2024 edition, which featured Karol G and Teddy Swims, raised more than $2 million, and last year’s event hosted by Jimmy Kimmel also raised more than $2 million. An online auction this year offered items such as a signed LeBron James basketball and a getaway at Civana Wellness Resort and Spa.
Perry has talked openly about mental health herself. In 2019, she said she was taking a step back from music to focus on her mental health, and she has since returned with a big world tour that kicked off in Mexico City in April 2025. That history makes her presence at a mental health fundraiser feel natural.
Fans love seeing 2 pop stars who have been in the spotlight for years support each other. The photo of them in contrasting looks, one in sleek black and one in soft champagne, makes for an eye-catching pairing. It also reinforces the message that the night was as much about community as it was about fashion.
With more than $30 million raised and a $100 million goal, the fund still has a long way to go. Events like this keep attention on the cause, and celebrity guests help amplify it. Perry’s support is one more reminder of how many people are rallying behind Gomez’s mission.
