New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Coloring Book Pages Offer a Fresh Look at Thor, Falcon, Shang-Chi and Doom
Marvel has found a new way to sneak peeks of its next crossover into the world: the humble activity book. Merchandise has become one of the studio’s most reliable sources of early details, from action figures to visual dictionaries. Now it’s a coloring book that has fans squinting at the fine print.
The film’s marketing push has been relentless in recent weeks. Fans have seen character descriptions, themed installations and fresh promotional art, all arriving just as ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ enters its final stretch before release. It’s the kind of campaign that rewards anyone willing to dig through every product page.
Pages from the new ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ coloring book show the heroes in clean black-and-white line art. One spread has Thor in a casual jacket gripping his hammer at the center, with a helmeted Ant-Man and Shang-Chi in battle stances beside him and a winged Falcon soaring overhead. A large AVENGERS title runs along the bottom, and the next page appears to show a hooded, armored figure with an outstretched hand, which looks like Doctor Doom.

The pages come from an Italian-language edition, and the visible caption is the most interesting part. It reads, in part, that the Avengers, the greatest heroes of Earth, are ready to do anything, even join forces with allies, to protect the world from the imminent threat. That appears to match the first description for the Avengers that surfaced earlier today.
That suggests the coloring book may be where some of the new character blurbs have been appearing. The same day also brought a description for Doctor Doom, calling him the ruler of Latveria and a master of magic and technology, and a line placing Sam Wilson at the head of a newly assembled Avengers team. Marvel hasn’t commented on where the text originated.
The caption reinforces a theme that has run through the marketing. Rather than presenting the Avengers as a closed unit, the description frames their willingness to work with outsiders as essential. That fits a story in which heroes from 3 universes are set on a collision course against an existential threat.
The artwork seems to back this up. The page groups together characters from different corners of the MCU, including Thor, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi and Falcon, who have previously been described as part of Sam Wilson’s ‘Heroic Avengers.’ A Disney event in Italy last December showed that same lineup, with Loki joining them.
This isn’t the first time merchandise has hinted at the story. A line of Hasbro figures included a Shang-Chi description suggesting he may be the only hero powerful enough to stop the threat the Avengers face, and the toys also revealed Doom’s green hood and silver armor and a Thor helmet inspired by his comic design. Toy descriptions have a reputation for being accurate, though Marvel has not officially commented on the leaks.
Other products have added more clues. A Funko release gave a first look at Doomstadt Tower, a LEGO bust previewed Doom’s armor and a visual dictionary covering the MCU from ‘Endgame’ to ‘Doomsday’ goes on sale on November 10. That book reportedly contains no artwork from the film itself.
Marvel’s footage has revealed the film’s central clash. The first full trailer shows Thor attacking Doom with Stormbreaker, only for Doom to stop it at once. It also features the Fantastic Four meeting the MCU heroes, Shang-Chi fighting Gambit and Mystique transforming into Yelena Belova.
Concept art released earlier this summer placed Doom at the center, with Loki hidden beneath him and the X-Men and Fantastic Four around the edges. The coloring book’s line art has a similar approach, with the heroes grouped around a single menacing figure.

A coloring book may seem like a minor piece of merchandise, but it gives fans a clean look at character designs without the lighting and effects of a trailer. It also shows how Marvel’s partners are describing the story to the public. With less than 2 months until release, even small captions are being studied closely.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ hits theaters on December 18, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and leads into ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ on December 17, 2027. Until then, expect more clues to surface in unexpected places.
