Wrapping a show that defined nearly a decade of your career is a strange kind of freedom. For Erin Moriarty, who spent years living inside the world of Vought and its corrupt superheroes, the end of ‘The Boys’ has meant a lot more time to share her own life with fans. Her social feed has become a running diary of that new chapter.

Moriarty played Annie January, better known as Starlight, through all 5 seasons of the Prime Video series, and she also appeared as the character in the spin-off ‘Gen V.’ The show ran from 2019 until this year, following a resilient, outspoken fighter who stands up to corporate exploitation. Since then, she has been absent from screens, which makes every new post a talking point.

The latest one is a relaxed set of photos that is circulating this week. They show her in a warm, cozy mood that feels a world away from her superhero days.

Moriarty poses in a softly lit room in front of an ornate dark headboard, and the warm glow gives the images an intimate, golden-hour feel. She wears a fitted red knit top with a ruffled hem and tie-front details, paired with jeans and a delicate pendant necklace. The red pops against the amber light, which is a big part of why the set stands out.

In one shot, she raises a cocktail glass garnished with olives while closing her eyes and pursing her lips playfully. The second frame is more direct, with a steady gaze at the camera. Together, the two images balance fun and confidence.

The garnish is not a coincidence. On October 9, Moriarty shared a batch of mirror selfies in a sheer black look, along with a martini photo and a playful olive pun in the caption. The carousel also included a photo of the moon taken from a car, and fans flooded the comments with praise.

The olive theme seems to carry over into her latest post, a small running joke for followers who pay close attention. It’s a lighthearted touch from an actress known for intense, dramatic work.

Moriarty has become something of a mirror-selfie regular this year. In March she shared a post-Saturn Awards look in a fitted black cut-out mini dress, and in June she posted photos from New York. In August, she debuted a fresh hairstyle in a post built around the idea of hitting the refresh button, shortly after months of promoting the final season.

More recently, she shared a new hair look, a voluminous, 90s-inspired blowout, with her 2.8 million Instagram followers. Together, the posts tell the story of a performer settling into life after Starlight.

Moriarty’s career stretches well beyond superhero satire. Before ‘The Boys,’ she appeared in Netflix’s ‘Jessica Jones’ and the first season of HBO’s ‘True Detective,’ and her film credits include ‘Captain Fantastic,’ ‘Blood Father’ and ‘The Kings of Summer.’ She also had a guest spot in Apple TV+’s ‘The Studio’ in 2025.

Her next role is a horror film. She plays Marsha Becker in director Gary Fleder’s ‘The Haunting in Wicker Park,’ also referred to as ‘True Haunting,’ a true story built around the first-ever televised exorcism. ‘Stranger Things’ actor Jamie Campbell Bower plays her husband, Edwin Becker, and the film is in post-production without a confirmed release date.

Beyond that project, there is little officially lined up. Moriarty has reportedly said her dream role after ‘The Boys’ would be a spot on a future season of HBO’s ‘The White Lotus,’ a glossy, character-driven ensemble that couldn’t be further from the violence of her old show. She hasn’t announced another big role in the sources reviewed, so fans will have to keep watching her feed for clues.

For now, the red knit top and the olive-garnished cocktail are a reminder that she is enjoying the break. Her fans clearly are too.
