‘The Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence Confirms Cosmetic Work and Opens Up About What Work Is Next
Celebrity candor about cosmetic procedures has shifted noticeably in recent years. Where stars once deflected rumors with a polite denial, a growing number are now speaking plainly about what they have had done and what they might do later. Jennifer Lawrence, who has long been known for blunt interviews, is one of the latest to join that conversation.
The Oscar winner, 36, is promoting a new project that has nothing to do with film. She has launched a haircare brand called Mes, a venture years in the making for a self-described “hair girl” who spent the early part of her career at the mercy of stylists. By the time she finished the second ‘Hunger Games’ film, her hair was so damaged that she cut it into a pixie.
To mark the launch, Lawrence gave a cover story interview to The Cut, and it has already generated headlines for another reason. The magazine reported that she has had a breast augmentation and one day plans to get a facelift. She also spoke about wanting to look polished at her children’s school drop-off, even on mornings when she has just woken up and doesn’t feel put together.
None of this is entirely new territory for Lawrence. In an October 2025 interview with The New Yorker, she said she planned to get a breast augmentation in November after welcoming her second son earlier that year. She explained that her body bounced back after her first pregnancy but not after her second.
In that same conversation, she confirmed occasional Botox but said she avoids fillers because they show up on camera. She also said she had not had a facelift but that one was coming, and she has been consistent about that since. The Cut’s cover story effectively confirms that the earlier plan went forward.
Earlier discussion of her appearance was more defensive. In a November 2023 interview with Interview magazine, she denied having had eye surgery and credited her makeup artist’s technique, adding that she had lost baby weight in her face and that her face had changed because she is aging. The contrast between that interview and her recent openness shows how much her tone has changed.
Lawrence has also commented on procedures she is unsure about. In a September interview with Vogue, she said she is nervous about fat transfers, though she supports other people having them, since she wants to keep watching how they turn out. She added that she would love to have buccal fat removal but wouldn’t because everybody would know.
Her fame clearly shapes those decisions. When asked about whether she would pursue surgery if she were not an actress, she acknowledged that the demands of her career play a role. She has also talked about the physical changes of pregnancy on the ‘Good Hang’ podcast with Amy Poehler in January, where she joked that few people had noticed how slim she looked in ‘Die, My Love’ even though she was pregnant during filming.
Lawrence’s openness comes as other public figures have discussed their own procedures. Lily Allen has talked about her breast augmentation, and Kris Jenner’s facelift drew widespread attention this year. Taken together, the trend suggests that frankness is becoming more common than secrecy.
Her broader outlook is practical. She has framed her choices around feeling confident while balancing motherhood and a demanding career, and she has joked about her business ambitions, saying a smarter exit plan would be signing up for a big franchise rather than starting a company. For fans, the tone fits the straightforward persona that made her a star.
‘Die, My Love’, the psychological drama directed by Lynne Ramsay and co-starring Robert Pattinson, drew praise for her performance when it arrived in theaters last November. Now she is moving into entrepreneurship while remaining one of the most talked-about actors in Hollywood. Whatever comes next, she seems comfortable telling people about it on her own terms.
