Regal’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Doom’s Throne Bucket and Sentinel Cup Bring Doctor Doom’s Collectibles to the US

For weeks, American fans watched Doctor Doom popcorn buckets appear in other countries and wondered when their own theaters would catch up. Brazil, Spain and several Latin American chains showed off glowing masks, busts and throne cups, while the US had only a light-up mask available for pre-order. Now the wait is over, and the new ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ popcorn bucket lineup from Regal is leading the charge.

On October 29, Regal, AMC, Cinemark, Harkins and Marcus revealed their ‘Doomsday‘ collectibles, and all five are selling a Doctor Doom statue bucket. Regal, AMC and Harkins start selling their items on December 17, the day before the film opens on December 18. The reveals were notable because earlier US images turned out to belong to Cinemark Brasil.

Regal’s centerpiece is the Doom’s Throne popcorn container, labeled a Regal exclusive. The design shows Doctor Doom seated in a tall chair at the top of a stepped, hexagonal base, with green light glowing from the edges of each tier. The background is a lattice of tall windows, a nod to the stained-glass imagery that has defined the film’s marketing.

Fans have been waiting for a throne-focused piece after months of promotional art placing Doom in his Latverian throne room. Turning it into a bucket makes the villain’s seat a piece of display furniture.

Alongside it, Regal is offering a Sentinel collectible drink vessel that comes with a large beverage. The cup is shaped like a Sentinel head in pale gray, with a glowing green visor and a row of light panels across the brow. It is an unusual choice, since the Sentinels have been teased in recent posters but are not the face of the campaign.

The inclusion of a Sentinel suggests the film’s X-Men connection will be a central part of the story. It also gives collectors something that isn’t Doom-shaped, which should help the lineup stand out.

Regal has five items in total at select theaters starting December 17, while supplies last. The lineup includes the Sentinel drink vessel, the Doctor Doom statue bucket, Doom’s Throne and two combos. AMC has four items available in theaters only from the same date, including a Sentinel Head bucket, while Cinemark’s Doom lights up.

Pricing hasn’t been confirmed for these items. In the US, recent Marvel buckets have generally cost between $30 and $50, often sold alongside special screenings or presales, so fans can expect something in that range.

New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Posters for Premium Formats Put Doctor Doom Front and Center

The path to this announcement was bumpy. Early images spread online as a Cinemark release before turning out to come from Cinemark Brasil, and as of mid-October no US chain had announced a bucket. AMC and Regal listed only a Doctor Doom Mask Light for $29.99 as a pre-order.

Fake versions even appeared on AliExpress last week. Collectors are advised to be careful with unofficial sellers and to check original posts from the theater chains before buying.

Regal is also promoting other ‘Doomsday’ extras. It is offering a Doctor Doom ‘Magic: The Gathering’ card for Infinity Vision screenings from December 17 to 20, and a RealD 3D Fan Event on December 20 hands out collectible 3D glasses with five mystery logos. Those events fit a pattern of making opening weekend feel like a must-attend occasion.

The merchandise also ties into the format battle. The film has no IMAX screens in its first three weeks because ‘Dune: Part Three’ holds an exclusive run, so Disney has leaned on its Infinity Vision certification and other premium formats. Collectibles give those premium screenings extra appeal.

Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom has been the face of the campaign from the start, with a first-ever solo villain poster, a throne-room team poster with the Latverian witches, and at least 25 pieces of art. A Doom bucket concept from artist Bosslogic reportedly drew hundreds of thousands of views last year, and Downey himself shared it. Seeing that idea turn into real merchandise is a satisfying payoff for fans.

With presales already past major milestones, the hype shows no signs of fading. Collectible buckets are just one more way the studio keeps Doom at the center of the conversation.
